Guesthouse in the Pines
25% off stays of 7 days or longer. This towering A-frame with floor to ceiling windows invites you into the tranquility of slow, country living. Perched peacefully over a grove of Ponderosas with breathtaking views of the Columbia hills and a majestic Mount Hood, this high desert retreat offers an escape from the bustle of urban life and will lull you into a much needed quietude. Enjoy the starry open sky on either of our spacious decks, perfect for a morning cup of coffee or a slow savoring of Pinot from a nearby vineyard.
This is our favorite place to stay while visiting family in town. This time we introduced the new baby to the family. Relaxing, spacious, caught a clear view of Mt Hood and enjoyed one night of star gazing from the deck. We will be back next time we come to town.
The house in the pines was a fantasic stay. I would sit and look out those windows for hours. We had amazing sunrise and sunsets this trip! The beds were comfy and loved the layout of the house. We had a few things come up and Jacob was responsive. Though one couldnt be fixed during our stay, it was easy to make contact with him.
This house will be on our radar next time we come visit.
Loved our time staying in this peaceful home! As pictured and described, had everything we needed, and host communication was excellent throughout. Great experience.
We had the loveliest stay at this home! We were looking for a quiet place to escape to from the city and this place did not disappoint. Such a beautiful home to relax in, enjoy some good meals and watch the most gorgeous sunsets ever! No stargazing this time because of the thunderstorms, but we will be back to try again!
We were looking for a place close to the Goldendale Observatory that our family could spend some time together. This place was perfect for our family with 3 bedrooms, space to hang as a family, and a beautiful view. Everything was clean and there were nice little touches like wireless chargers, specialty coffee makers, telescope, and a welcome basket when we arrived. We would stay here again for sure!
House is well equipped for groups. Large tables inside and out. And kitchen was big enough for us all to cook. Nice common area space. I took the small bedroom, which had a hide-a-bed that was not the most comfortable, but the other two bedrooms were really nice. Nice to have three bathrooms. Good launching spot to explore the area. We took the road less-travelled to Bickleton. It was exquisite. IF you go, do not miss the general store or the Bluebird Inn - thought it was a bar, but was a restaurant. The women who ran both establishments were incredible. We had planned to hit a winery afterwards, but the house is so nice we decided to go back "home" for evening libations. Would definitely recommend.
Very lovely, spacious home. The view of Mt. Hood was spectacular. We saw two mama deer and two babies while there and the birds chirping was a pleasant sound while sitting on the deck. We were 8 women ages 40+ and the sofa bed and the blowup mattress were not ideal for our age group, but we worked things out and slept very well. Host was very attentive staying in touch. Would highly recommend this place if you're going to the Maryhill Winery plus the many others nearby, the Maryhill Museum, Stonehenge and/or the observatory. Restaurants in town were quite good.
This is such a beautiful home in a spectacular place, we didn't get blessed with great weather and we still had a great time. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Lovely house and absolutely gorgeous surroundings including a view of two mountains. The living room is the perfect place to lounge and you feel like youâre in the outdoors. The deck was perfect for an early cup of coffee in the morning. Three bathrooms, two extra roomy, kept us all comfortable. Full kitchen and dishwasher were also very convenient to prepare our own meals. If you watch a lot of TV, the TV is not very convenient, but we had no need of it. I did just want a plain old coffee maker but thatâs because Iâm old-school (they had 4 different coffee making devices and filters were provided so we were fine). It is a no-shoe house so I suggest bringing slippers. The third bedroom had glass doors so wasnât private, but maybe theyâll remedy that in the future. I have no real complaints, just things that might be a small issue based on your preferences. Lovely house, property, and view. I was a pesky client and had a lot of questions prior to the trip but the property manager always got back to me quickly.
