For a home away from home in the middle of it all, come stay with us and walk to all that High Point has to offer: Rockers Ballpark, Children`s Museum, Nomad Wine Works, Furniture Market. Plus, we`re only a couple minutes drive to High Point University!

...with this fun femme retreat! Discover the perfect blend of fifties Hollywood nostalgia and modern comfort at The Marilyn, your home away from home in the heart of downtown High Point. This recently renovated two-bedroom, one-bathroom house highlights America`s favorite pin up girl while creating a relaxing haven for your trip to `the furniture capitol of the world`. The couch lies flat to convert into another bed in a pinch, so if you`re traveling with young ones, you`ll be all set to sleep up to 5.

We`ve got a big back yard so you don`t have leave your fur babies behind. If you`re bringing a pet, just let me know before booking so we can determine if they`re a good fit. A non-refundable pet fee is required of $25 per pet per night to cover wear and tear, charged after booking.

A BOMBSHELL OF A RETREAT – DESIGNED FOR FUN AND RELAXATION

Step inside and be transported back to a time where the spirit of the silver screen comes alive again. Every detail is designed to pay homage to America`s sex symbol while ensuring a warm and inviting atmosphere for guests. You`ll love all the soft touches.

The Marilyn features two cozy bedrooms, each outfitted with a smart TV so you can pick up streaming you favorite shows where you left off. The first bedroom boasts a comfortable king-sized bed, reading lamps on the side tables, a full length mirror, a small set of drawers and coset for your clothes. The second bedroom offers a full-sized bed, make-up station, and a closet with flex shelving. For larger groups, the living room has a collapsible couch that converts into a full-sized bed as well—perfect for small families.

The recently renovated bathroom features an oversized walk-in shower with modern fixtures, plenty of fluffy towels, and complimentary toiletries.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED, RIGHT AT YOUR FINGERTIPS

We’ve gone above and beyond to make The Marilyn feel like a truly cozy home base for our guests. The efficiency kitchen is equipped with everything you need to whip up a quick meal, including a small table, microwave, filtered water pitcher, coffee maker and a selection of complimentary K Cups, sugar, creamers, ground coffee, and tea bags. And yes, we do have wine glasses, and bottle openers!

High-speed Wi-Fi is available throughout the house. There’s a small designated workspace with basic desk accessories as well as a washer, dryer, and laundry supplies (including a steamer).

The living area features a smart TV for streaming and the cutest couch and chairs where you can relax after a day of exploring. There`s an electric fireplace TV stand for just the right ambience while you curl up to watch Gentlemen Prefer Blondes for your classic Marilyn movie night. ;)

Guests have access to the whole house with the exception of one locked closet. There is a large back yard (shared with the unit next door) available for your use as well! Unfortunately, the mailbox is not available for guests to receive mail without prior permission.

There is no need to interact with the host if you prefer your privacy, but I live in the area and am happy to provide local recommendations and tips. The interaction level is up to you. Just reach out if there is anything at all I can do to make your stay in High Point memorable.

This space is the left side of a duplex which is also rented on AirBnB. If you need more space, let us know, we can rent out both units together for a convenient (and discounted) price.

*Please note* Although we have a relaxed cancellation policy, we still incur the 4% cc fee. Your refund will be in full, minus the 4% cc fee.
Our home is PRIVATE but it is part of a duplex with a wall in between the adjoining home.
Guests MUST be quiet after 10pm to be respectful of next door unit. If that will be a problem for you, please do not reserve our home. If you are loud during your stay, we will have to write you a bad review.
NO SMOKING in our unit. $500 fine if our rules are broken.

We designed this house to deliver a fully refreshing experience for each guest. It is a place of order and peace. The following rules are meant to preserve our home for its original purpose:

Parties:
Parties are prohibited. Have friends come by, but beware that a fine will be assessed for excessive noise, property damage, and any gathering over eight people.

Illegal Activity:
Engaging in any illegal activities will warrant immediate eviction.

Smoking:
No smoking or vaping inside the apartment at any time. Smoking and vaping is permitted outside only. While smoking outside, guests must ensure windows & doors are closed so that no smoke enters the building. Cigarette butts should be fully extinguished and disposed of in outside trash can. Any evidence of damage or odor caused by smoking or vaping inside or cigarette debris left on the exterior will result in a minimum $1,000 fine.

Mail:
Please do not ship packages or mail to the apartment without prior approval.

Pets:
Some pets are allowed with prior approval & pet fee. There are a few pet items in the laundry area you can use in a pinch if you forget to bring your own. The fee is $25 per night per pet with a $50 minimum ($500 max) to be charged after booking. Please reach out to chat about your pet PRIOR TO booking. Bringing a pet but refusing to pay the fee will be grounds for immediate eviction with no refunds.

Cancelations:
We do not accept cancellations due to weather, sudden illness, death or natural disasters. AirBnB offers travel insurance for these circumstances.

Furniture:
If you move any furniture, please put it back where you found it at checkout.

Best Practices:
Communication is king! In order to ensure a five-star experience, we want to be told if anything is not up to snuff. Likewise, please notify us immediately if you break anything. We understand, accidents happen, but if we don’t know about it, we can’t fix it.

Fees:
If there is evidence of non-compliance with the policies stated, penalty fees will apply.

The bottom line is, you`ll be staying in someone`s home, so please treat it with care and respect. Thank you.
