There's a restaurant on site. You can enjoy a drink at the bar/lounge. WiFi is free in public spaces. Theatre Royal Hotel Kumara also features a garden and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available.
Nothing too much trouble for staff. A serendipitous find of an idiosyncratic venue. We absolutely loved it after some of the soulless hotels we stayed in on our vacation. We stayed in one if the "cabins". Just great.
A one night stay on a roadie down the West Coast heading for the snow. We have stayed here before and frankly, wouldn't consider anywhere else. This time we had a miner's cottage (free upgrade!), it was warm and quirky which we love. Ate in the bar, a real kiwi pub experience and friendly locals. The area is very interesting
Victorian Suite in the BNZ bank building was fantastic. Loved sleeping the 4-poster bed and soaking in the slipper bath. Relaxing having our own lounge area.
Enjoyed both evening meals we had across at the hotel.
Gloriously restored original 150 year old bank .. claw bath was beautiful, bed was heavenly , lovely antiques furniture and decorations . The pub was also amazingly restored .. and the venison dinner was 5 star âïž.. love love loved it .. THANKS đ
Really liked the Victoria Suite. Si roomy and a very different experience to a boring hotel room. Loved the claw foot bath. Would have loved bath oils. The fresh milk for tea/coffee was a lovely touch. Will definitely recommend.
We pre booked a room and after booking in we decided we would like to upgrade. No problem. We upgraded to a minors cottage. What a fantastic room. Words alone cant explain the decadence and decor in the room. Only death will stop us staying again.
Good meals that are reasonably priced.
Absolutely loved the experiece in a country town.
This property is very unique and one used by at least some of the bicycle tours. There are sheds for charging e-bikes, cottages, rooms in the old Bank of New Zealand and the hotel. We stayed in a cottage which was excellent for our needs, being able to have breakfast, cook when we wanted or go to the Hotel restaurant which had very good food. We were within easy commuting distance to various sites and hiking trails, that were excellent.
Lovely old hotel with theme rooms. Bar and restaurant on site with a good menu. Breakfast available for extra charge. Small gloworm site behind hotel for curious tourists.
