Chung Cottage
This family-friendly property features a large fenced yard and a covered outdoor dining area. Located a short walk from beautiful Hanalei Bay and also close to Hanalei town with lots of shops, restaurants, food markets and the public Kauai Bus stop. One bedroom, one and a half bath. There is a Queen bed and a single bed in the guest bedroom. The living room couches are also single beds - with sleeping for 5 guests. The Cottage comes fully equipped with a kitchen, full size washer/dryer, a flat screen Smart TV and DVD player, and WiFi. There is also a Weber charcoal grill (and a great fish market located in Hanalei town) and beach chairs, mats, and beach towels.

This is not a beachfront or beach view property, however it is very close. It is about a 5min walk to both the beach and lots of food options. Even with the many fans provided, the house is very hot during the day even with all of the windows open. We arrived after sundown and the windows weren’t opened all the way so the house didn’t cool down until about 10pm. We managed to stay out of the house during the day due to the heat. The patio is lovely and we spent the mornings and evenings outside. Beach towels, chairs and boogie boards are provided. House is clean, well kept and a great value for the money.

The Chung Cottage was an amazing home base for our adventures in Hanalei. The Cottage was very clean and had everything we needed for the week. Everything in the home was in working order. We Made use of the beach chairs and boogies boards daily. The porch was great place to sip coffee in the morning and chill out in the evenings The location is simply fantastic. 2 minutes to the beach and maybe five to the village. We would not hesitate to book again.

Great Location

Cottage is just a block from the beach which is a huge selling point, but the road and traffic can get noisy. It has basic amenities, and is clean and comfortable. The layout is a bit odd, with the shower separate from the upstairs bathroom, and the dining area down a few steps in the converted carport. Overall, worth the price.

Perfect Cottage in Paradise

This was me and my husband’s 8th trip to Hanalei but first time at Chung Cottage. The location of the house was excellent-equally a quick walk to the beach and to town. The house had a very Hawaiian feel, cute and funky. It was larger than the pictures show and my husband and I made full use of the different areas to sit and relax. The kitchen worked great for meal prep and we were glad to find beach equipment. There’s limited options for a 1 bedroom in Hanalei and I’m glad that the home worked out perfectly as we would definitely book again. Check in and check out was easy, there’s nothing to improve on. Mahalo and we look forward to returning!

Chung Cottage for the win!

Great little cottage in the heart of Hanalei. Perfect location and this old school cottage makes you feel like you step back in time to what Hanalei used to be. Big yard for the kids to play soccer and games, nice lanai with views of mountains, close to beach & restaurants. A little rustic but a great deal $$$ in Hanalei.

Chung Cottage

This cottage is super cute and they pack a lot into a small space. I came with my husband for our honeymoon but I can see how the place could sleep 5+ I will say this is not the stay for you if you plan on cooking during your vacation. While the stove works and the fridge is sizable there is no oven apart from a toaster oven that zapped my husband and I when we tried to use it, and the kitchen isn’t lit super well for cooking. The kitchen also doesn’t have a dishwasher or a ton of dishes if you do have a bigger group. For us this worked because we either ate out, had cereal, or had poke where we just needed a fridge and a microwave for rice, but it is something to be aware of. Proximity to the beach is fantastic and Hanalei Bay is warm and safe to swim in in October. We also loved being close enough to town that we could walk.

Great location

The property was great and perfect location a block from the beach. The property was clean overall. I did rewash the sheets as there were stains. I brought it to the attention to the property manager and it was addressed immediately. It is an island with lots of critters and not much to do about that. Addressed a few bug issues and again the manager was responsive. Overall I had a wonderful stay there and I would certainly go back to the same place. I highly recommend.

Old time beach house

We enjoyed our stay in this quaint cottage. It’s in a great location with just a short walk to the beach or Hanalei town. Good WiFi which was important for virtual school. I loved having a washer and dryer in the big extra “party room” attached to the carport. And it’s convenient having the shower out there so you don’t track sand into the house.

Great Stay by Hanalei Bay

The location of this property is excellent! It’s a short walk to the town of Hanalei and to the beach. The cottage itself is quirky (it feels a bit like you’re inside of a boat) and not at all fancy but definitely clean and well appointed. It was perfect for my husband and I during our five night stay. We would absolutely stay here again during our next visit to Hanalei.
