Hanalei Plantation, Ocean View 4 BR/4+BA Home

This home has a wonderful ocean view and there is a .03 mile walk to gain access to the beach.

This two-story home is located about a mile west of the center of charming Hanalei town. Hanalei Plantation is quite spacious and especially well designed for families as well as couples travelling together. Many thoughtful amenities throughout the home add to guests' comfort and enjoyment.

Enjoy views of the ocean from nearly every room as well as from the large lanais on the front of the house. The spacious great room upstairs is an ideal place to gather together in total comfort. The two upstairs bedrooms are located on opposite sides of the home for greater privacy.

The kitchen is large and fully equipped for times when you choose to dine at home and the granite counters add an elegant touch. You may want to check out a local sunshine market for fresh, island produce to include in your recipes.

There is a second living room downstairs as well as two additional bedrooms on opposite sides of the house. Its overall design and spaciousness make this home a perfect choice for families and friends who enjoy each other's company yet want private space.

Relax in the gentle breezes on either of the large, ocean-facing lanais to enjoy wonderful ocean and garden views. Here you can sip morning coffee, have a cool beverage in the afternoon and watch for the colorful skies of sunset.

The crescent-shaped beach at Hanalei Bay, voted among the world's best beaches, is just a walk away. Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy at your leisure and have fun along the shore. When you return home, you will appreciate the convenience of two outdoor showers for rinsing off.

You can drive to the charming town of Hanalei and explore small shops, galleries and eateries. There is a nice variety of restaurants and cafes here that offer many choices of cuisine.

Just beyond Hanalei is Princeville where additional shopping and dining experiences await you. Golf enthusiasts appreciate having two world-class courses in Princeville. Prince Golf and Country Club and Makai Golf Course were both designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. and offer spectacular views along with challenge.

This was a wonderful house and location for our family vacation. Great for both privacy and togetherness with a well equipped kitchen for meals - although it would be nice if the seating upstairs could accommodate eight guests and the beds downstairs were truly kings (now, two twins pushed together). The location is just what we wanted - quiet and tranquil with a few minutes easy access to Hanalei either by car or bike and a lovely small beach across the road. Beautiful views of the ocean. We hope to return!

The property is perfect for large families! House was just as advertised and plenty of room with beach towels and chairs. We were right across the street from the beach/beach access and it was amazing!Would definitely recommend this property for large families.

Nice stay close to Hanalei center

We enjoyed staying there. Actually this is our second time there. We were here about 6 ago with another family, so were happy to come back. It is possible to walk / run by the beach to the main Hanalei beaches, if you're not afraid to cross two streams (knee-deep).

Great layout for a large group, great location, overall the house was great. I would say that maintenance was a little lax, the house felt pretty "lived in". The house is also missing a sitting area on the main level to accommodate the number of folks that correspond with the number of bedrooms. This did not impact the quality of our stay. The experience was very positive.

Great place near Hanalei Bay

This house has a lot of space for everyone to spread out but come together as well. Very quiet location. Beach across the street is nice but a short walk or drive gets you to even better beaches. The management company is great and communication was excellent. Wi-Fi is weak and not available in most of the house which was only a problem when my kids were trying to download videos to use on the plane. Overall it is a great house and we would definitely stay again.

Appreciate the 4 bedrooms are spaced out to give 4 couples each privacy and each had their own bathroom. Clean, comfortable property. Good communication. Would be easier if didn’t have to pick up and drop off keys but wasn’t an issue as we flew out of Lihue and it’s close to the airport.

We were traveling with teens and the downstairs area (off limits to grownups!) was just perfect. The home was well appointed with everything we needed and with each room having its own bathroom was a bonus. It should be noted that in terms of food etc you need to bring EVERYTHING - spices, etc as there isn't anything in the kitchen. Also the home is on propane so a gas stove (for those who like to cook) is also a huge bonus. In terms of the rental company - they are always available and incredibly responsive. We will absolutely be renting again!

Reviewer Comments: Pros: nice view of bay from large covered front porch; lots of bathrooms; gas appliances in kitchen; well equipped kitchen; large fridge; plenty of dishes & cups; dishwasher; beach gear (chairs, towels); comfortable beds; lots of hot water from flash-water-heater; gas BBQ worked great; easy access to highway and central to our favorite north-coast locations; close walk to an OK family beach area, although best are a short drive.Cons: long steep stairs to 2nd floor front entrance, which were often wet from rain & required care to use; no AC so need to leave all the windows & doors open (always good breezes) but road noise and roosters made sleeping a challenge; some windows and exterior doors didn't work; bushes along road need trimming to safely pull out from driveway

Paradise!

This rental was amazing!! We stayed with a large family and we each had our own room with bathroom. The kids made the downstairs living room their hang out place. The upstairs had a full kitchen, dining area, and living room. We made breakfast every morning and dinner most nights. The beach was literally steps away. We spent a few hours every day on the beach. This beach was very private, we always had it to ourselves. The outdoor shower was perfect. We were able to rinse off without tracking sand through the house. It was a little warm at times without AC, but the ceiling fans and extra fans helped a lot! Be prepared to be woken up every morning by roosters. They are everywhere on this island! Overall, highly recommend. We can't wait to come back!

Beautiful Hanalei

The location of this property is perfect and the pictures don’t do it justice! Literally across the street from a nice sandy beach and a mile walk on the beach to town. And the home itself is incredibly spacious and well stocked with things like TP, paper towels and laundry detergent. The furniture and beds were all very comfortable for our group of six. There were beach chairs and umbrellas but no snorkeling gear or boogie boards (all of which you can rent in town). Other reviews mention the roosters - yup they really do crow all night, but listening to ocean waves for a week was worth it! Traveler tip - the rental office/key to the house is in Lihue at the rental office, NOT at the house. Also note that north shore in December is not very safe for swimming/snorkeling - lots of tourists ignore warnings and several died this past week, even though they were at beaches with lifeguards. There is tons to do in Hanalei, however, and I would definitely go back to this home - any time of year!

Reviewer Comments: Without dipping too pedantically into the endless vat of superlatives for this property i will recommend it highly for the following reasons:1. great location at the quite end of Hanalei bay. it is situated at the front of a historic farm and taro fields in the Makaihuwaa valley. You can walk across the road to a small beach good for swimming or hanging out or walk down to the bigger beaches, do stay off the private lands near the beach though.2. The house is somewhat recently renovated and in good shape for the most part but really its size and layout is fantastic for large families or friends. all bedrooms are en-suite and spacious with good airflow and verandas for most of them. 3. Activities abound for all of our family members, from the low tech walkers to the surf sports adventures. I liked being able to go for a swim in the ocean after dinner. a couple of minor issues are worth mentioning:-The front steps are the steepness of a Mayan temple and if you have less mobile members in your party use the interior staircase accessing from the bedroom patios below or back door, the vinyl railings at the front are flimsy and should not be leaned against, the wifi is weak and not usable in parts of the house so i had to conduct business on cell-data which worked OK.I would not hesitate to be here again and my family and friends are all happy with our stay!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We wanted to celebrate our 40th with our sons & their wives and we wanted this celebration to be special, that’s why we chose the island of Kauai. When I found the Hanalei Planation, I thought PERFECT! It had everything we were looking for, large living space, each couple had their own bedroom and bathroom. We were right across the street from the beach. We saw the sunrise every morning. It was beautiful! This was a wonderful place to gather as a family. We all fell in love with Hanalei Plantation and the island of Kauai. We hope to come back someday.

Hanalei on the Bay

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: After many years of coming to Kauai, this was our first time staying on the north side of the island. We had 4 couples staying, with one's first time on Kauai. The location was ideal for all of the northern beaches and visiting the north shore towns. The home was great for accommodating all of us and enjoying the view of Hanalei Bay. If I had any negatives regarding the home, it would be the overall cleanliness and maintenance that has been lacking at the home.
