The breakfast was a complete buffet with so many options, and everything was delicious and fresh. Staff was also very pleasant and helpful. Lady at check in was wonderful and room was comfortable and clean.

We stayed at the Scandic Helsinki Aviacongress after a long transatlantic flight, hoping for a comfortable place to relax and recover from our jetlag. The hotel itself was clean, the room was comfortable, and the staff were polite. However, we were really disappointed to find that the restaurant and bar were closed on Sunday — something we hadn’t been made aware of before booking. After such a long journey, it would have been great to have somewhere on-site to eat and unwind without having to go back out. If you’re planning to stay here, especially on a Sunday, just be aware that the hotel is pretty much closed up.

The front desk gentleman that worked the night shift on 11/01/2025 was truly a blessing, he was very kind to us and really provided us with personalized service. He even packed breakfast for us as we had to fly super early the next morning. He is tall, slim, dark hair, please thank him and value his contributions to the hotel. ☺️

The property itself was good and clean and quiet. We tried to find information about taking the shuttle from the airport to the hotel and couldn’t get any help. I messaged repeatedly, no answer. I emailed directly, no response. I called the hotel number repeatedly, they never answered! I ended up having to get a Bolt and pay $20 usd. Not helpful.

Very poor standard of room

I was very disappointed with the stay at the Scandic Helsinki Aviacongress. I have stayed at this hotel multiple times in the past, despite this(and despite supposedly having gold tier membership with hotels .com) the room we were put in was very poor. It was 2nd floor(as Europeans consider it).. the window looked out onto a flat roof and obstructing at least 50% of the window immediately outside was a huge aircon unit. I'm amazed that they put paying guests in this room at all, and don't just use it as a storage cupboard. It was a really depressing outlook to be given in a hotel that is not exactly cheap, or in a prime location. Further, inside the room there was a 3rd fold away bed. Inside the locked bed compartment was a light that was turned on. The only way we could find to turn it off was to remove the card, which of course turned off all our lights. In my opinion this represented a possible fire hazard. So we ended up removing the card at night and leaving my son's phone torch on as he doesn't like sleeping in total darkness. My experiences at this hotel in the past were acceptable. But I think it is inexcusable that we were given a room like this.

The hotel was great. The room was spacious, the bed was exceptionally comfortable, and the bathroom was well equipped with a lovely shower. The food was great, and there was an excellent selection of drinks and snacks available to purchase. My one qualm was the price of drinks - €9.60 for a pint of Finnish lager on tap. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Very conveniently located next to the airport, and the free shuttle service worked a treat.

The man that was at the desk when we arrived was not friendly or helpful. There is a sister hotel across the street where we had to go to get dinner. Dinner was not good. We really had nothing good to say about our stay.
