Everything wonderful except house flies
Posted Nov. 19, 2023 on HomeAwayThis was our first trip to the upper peninsula. It really was a beautiful cabin in a beautiful setting. And everything inside was clean and closed up. We couldn't quite understand why we had to be killing over a dozen flies per day inside. Where were they coming from? Anyway, it was still very good. Fly paper would have been useful.

Excellent getaway
Posted Aug. 25, 2023 on HomeAwayThis cabin was great. Very spacious and well taken care of. Large open space with a beautiful, functional fireplace. We greatly enjoyed the quiet, secluded location, and the view of the lake was excellent!

Very Cool Spot to hang out in a snow storm!
Posted Nov. 22, 2022 on HomeAwayWe arrived at Mackinaw Vista on a Friday afternoon with no snow in site! The house was impressive with all of the cool log cabin details and amazing stone fireplace. Listening to the roaring waters of Lake Huron was super cool too. Little did we realize that a winter storm was about to be upon us and it was something else! Luckily we did have enough food and supplies for the evening but had to venture out the next day to Cedarville in order to get more food for the rest of our stay. We were practically snowed in the rest of the day which was warm and cozy at the end of the pointe. We had a nice guy deliver us some firewood from his card on the refrigerator and he also plowed to driveway Sunday so we could leave safely! It was a fun weekend spending time with the family. We want to do it again in the summertime!

We had an amazing time but..
Posted Sep. 21, 2022 on HomeAwayIt is a beautiful space and a beautiful location but there was a lot of little things that needed work. It definitely needs some tlc and regular maintenance. We had an amazing trip but in the end we left the place cleaner than we found it and personally do not think it was worth the high price tag.

Great Location and Great Views
Posted Sep. 21, 2022 on HomeAwayCabin was in a great location. The views and Lake Huron access were all as-advertised.
The cabin was a little dirty, and had lots of flies and gnats when we checked-in. After some cleaning, the bug problem didn't get worse, so it was probably just left over from a previous guest's carelessness with the doors.
The interior was also a little dusty with cobwebs, and the exterior was covered in spiderwebs and dead bugs. Overall, a nice cabin, but definitely dirtier than expected for the price.
The indoor fireplace and outdoor beach areas are excellent.
