Welcome to 157 Mooring Buoy!! Very close walking distance to the beach and offers complimentary tennis/pickleball daily!

This property is located in the beautiful resort of Palmetto Dunes and less than a two minute walk to the magnificent beaches of Hilton Head Island!! This classic Hilton Head beach house is the perfect get away from it all!! The home features large open spaces, a Carolina room, a den, galley kitchen, and three spacious bedrooms, with many new updates throughout!! 

Upon entering the foyer, to the left is the powder room and the primary bedroom with en suite bath. The bedroom has a king bed and loveseat. The attached bathroom has a shower and separate tub. The right side of the home features a den with a sleeper sofa, and two guest bedrooms. The first bedroom has a king bed and shares a bathroom with the second bedroom with two twin beds. The bathroom has two sinks, and a tub/shower combo. 

Enjoy relaxing together in the great room with plenty of comfortable seating and a large flatscreen, smart TV. The dining area has seating for up to eight guests and lots of natural light shining through! Just off the great room is the spacious Carolina room. The Carolina room is enclosed with lots of windows with landscape and lagoon views! There is another dining area, as well as plenty of seating to watch TV, play a game or create a puzzle in this wonderful mix of indoor living with an outdoor feel! 

The home has a laundry room and complimentary wireless Internet throughout. In addition to the beach just steps away, an aware winning tennis and pickleball center, Palmetto Dunes offers three world-class golf courses, 11 mile lagoon system and miles of bike paths!

Across the street from Palmetto Dunes is the famed Shelter Cove Harbor and Marina! There are endless things to do, explore and enjoy while visiting 157 Mooring Buoy!

Couldn’t believe how clean the place was when we arrived. Porch need swept off but I like cleaning so I enjoyed doing it. Everything was in order and ready for our stay. Plenty of room for the wedding guests and preparing. We will return next year for my daughter’s anniversary stay at this place and enjoy the short walk to the beach daily. Oh and the short drive to markets and food establishments. I just love this place. The sign on the porch that says MiMis place. It’s what our grandkids call the wifey. So we knew this place was for us. Even the sign said so!!! We hope whoever stays enjoys as much as we did. Thank youThank you!!!!

Wonderful, cozy beachy getaway

The house was wonderful. Super spacious and laid out with two different sleeping "wings". One side had a HUGE primary bedroom and the other side had 2 bedrooms so the separation was perfect for 2 different families. The decor was so perfectly beachy. The living areas were open and spacious but also felt warm and cozy. The kitchen and bathrooms were outdated but were clean and spacious so it didn't matter at all to us. The proximity to the beach was great. I will say that the closest beach access point had a lot of stairs that made it super hard with our wagon and kids. BUT shortly down the road there was another beach access point without stairs so a little bit extra walk was worth it for the ease of pulling our wagon onto the beach. Not a problem at all but just wanted to make a note of it in case that helps another family dragging a wagon. All in all we had a great stay and would easily rent this home again!!

Perfect end of fall getaway

The house set up was perfect for our family. Loved how close it was to beach path. We have stayed Mooring Buoy before and used the same beach path. I sent a pic to my brother to show him how close I was this time and he asked for a picture of the house. Turned out he stayed in it in May! I would definitely stay in it again.

Great Location and price.

We picked this property because we wanted to be close to the beach without breaking the budget. While modest from the outside, the interior was perfect for our family of 5. Not having a pool wasn’t an issue with the beach across the street. One of the only down sides was that we were there during a tropic storm and the driveway sat with 4” of water most of the remaining days. Also the back 3 season porch was unbearable in terms temperature, but it’s to be expected for Hilton head in August. Summer is not one of the three season.

Great Location—Musty Smell

Location right across from Beach Access was great. House was as pictured, but the musty/moldy smell was terrible. We all became congested with itchy eyes/headaches. Property management tried to fix by using DampRid, but it didn’t help. They insisted there was no smell beyond a normal beach house—I disagree. House needs a good cleaning. Management company refunded cleaning fee. Wish I could have connected directly with owner instead of posting a negative review. Beachside Getaway was very quick with their responses, but no concession was offered. I kept being asked what it was I wanted. A good management company would offer a solution.

Perfect Palmetto Dunes Location

Nice home and close to beach

Overall this property is as shown on the site. The walk to the beach is SO short. Great location for that reason. Had everything we needed to cook. We rented bikes close by. We had a lovely stay.

Very pleasant stay

The property was clean and well appointed. Just a very short walk from the beach. Kitchen was well equipped. Property manager kept in touch with us inquiring about any needs on a regularly basis. We spent a very good time there.

Beautiful location

This house was located on a beautiful street and section of Palmetto Dunes. It was such an easy walk to the beach. The house was fully stocked with everything you needed. Extremely cozy for family time and games in the evening. We loved every minute.

“Two minutes to the sand”

Easy walk to an uncrowded beach. This house is located in a beautiful section of Palmetto Dunes The house was very comfortable with many areas for gathering together or for finding a cozy spot to read or just relax alone for a minute. Plenty of comfortable seating and beds. The house was well supplied by the host. It had everything that u might need during your stay. It was an easy place to enjoy yourself and have a relaxing time.
