Spacious condo in a great location.

Well appointed condo with unique separation between bedrooms and main living space. Plenty of room and closet space. Excellent location near beach, golf, pickel ball/tennis, many bike/walking paths. Condo is a bit rated and carpets stained. Staff was very responsive to housekeeping requests.

Wonderful property and location

We absolutely loved this condo overall. The short walk to the beach/pool and view of the lagoon were incredible. The appliances/fixtures need some updating. One shower head leaked. We had trouble reaching the manager on check in day and we were not told there was a code for the beach gate access nor were we given the code. We had to contact the manager to get this. Despite this, we would rent this place again.

Sisters Get Away

We booked #488 Captains Cove for our annual sisters trip. The location was wonderful, just a short walk (maybe 5 min) to the beach and pool. Kitchen was very well stocked with pots, pans, dishes and utensils. Furniture was clean and comfortable. My personal favorite areas were the decks. There is a screened in deck as well as an open deck on the back and a nice open deck on the front. There are plenty of chairs and loungers also. We made a little bird friend that showed up everyday on the dock out back on the canal. We also enjoyed the view of the canal. The only complaint is that the deck furniture could use some cleaning/updating. All in all a wonderful vaction! Thank you for letting us enjoy your place! Pat's Girls

Location location location

This is a quaint and comfortable condo within walking distance to the beach and oceanfront pool. We loved everything about the location - we could go back and forth to the condo from the beach and pool which made it ideal for our family with young kids. We also loved that we were a short bike ride from everything - the beach, restaurants, and the marina! Also the beach access is gated and only open to residents in that area which we also loved. The pool was great and generally not over crowded. The condo is very airy and spacious with comfortable furnishings. We also loved the dock where we watched alligators roam and fished right outside the condo. The only thing to be aware of is nothing is provided in terms of supplies like garbage bags, dish soap, cleaning supplies, etc. We were supplied with 2 days worth of dishwashing and laundry detergent and a 2 small bars of soap, shampoo, and conditioner. But I would have brought more from home if I had known that this is literally all they have in the condo. Also, make sure your welcome packet includes the code to get through the gate to the beach. We had to call the property manager to get this and therefore couldn't access the beach for several hours. But they were very responsive when we needed something. Overall, this condo is a gem and we would totally stay here again!

Perfect Home Base

We loved our stay at this Captain's Cove villa. Having a yard facing the lagoon allowed us to rent 2 kayaks for the week. The dock was a perfect spot to launch the kayaks or just sit and enjoy the beautiful view. It's a wide, lovely portion of the lagoon system, too, with visits from beautiful birds and a small alligator we named Gary the Grey. (Some homes in Palmetto Dunes are on the lagoon but in more narrow and stagnant portions.) It can be hard for me to find a mattress that doesn't cause discomfort; the king bed here was wonderful. The boys all had comfortable beds as well. The kitchen is large and airy with the huge windows and skylight. The flooring through the condo is new and attractive. We also enjoyed the living room furniture - comfortable, plentiful, and the orange chairs swivel. We appreciated the option of sitting in the screened in porch or on the outside deck. There was a lot of seating for both areas, and some newer rocker chairs that are great (and not in the pictures). The front porch is large and accommodated all of the beach equipment that we had, and I loved being across the street from the ocean and pool. I could hurry back home in just a couple of minutes when I forgot my book :-) If we make it back to Hilton Head, I would DEFINITELY book this condo. It's a great deal.

Unit needs updating

This is a lovely townhome with a beautiful view of the lagoon. The living room furniture is comfortable and appears relatively new. I had to reduce the overall rating because of the following reasons. The bedroom furniture is pretty worn out, other than comfortable beds. And, this place seriously needs updating. Kitchen appliances are old, including the stove with old ring-type burners on the stove top. Hilton Head water is tough on faucets and these should be replaced as they look terrible. The bi-fold door to the laundry room sticks badly and once I finally got it open I never closed it again. The bi-fold door in the bedroom also sticks. Bathroom wallpaper borders are way out of date. With these fixes the place would be just about perfect.

Perfect location in Palmetto Dunes

We stayed at this property over Thanksgiving 2021, and found it perfect for our family of 3. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were spacious, the morning light was incredible and it was clean as can be. The only thing that could make it better is if the fireplace that was at one time so clearly operational was working.

As advertised. Walking into condo kind of like a time warp. Newest flooring that was super clean. Did not see a bug all week, which was awesome. But most of residence looks like original decorations. All in all a terrific place to rent and stay!

Although the property, as noted by other reviewers, could stand to be updated (furniture and decor), it was clean, roomy and fully functional. We really enjoyed our stay at this property and would recommend it to others.

Great location for a short or long stay

We stayed in this unit for 3 weeks and had a wonderful time. The unit was clean, bright, and comfortable. It is an end unit, so there are extra windows to let in natural light. The unit is in a great location, right on the lagoon, right on the bike path and a short 3 minute walk to the beach. The beach access point is not at a crowded location, so it was easy to find a spot to sit and count sea gulls. There was plenty of parking out front and there is a storage closet outside to store your bike rentals. There is beach equipment, puzzles, books, games, and a good wireless connection to keep you entertained. We used the SmartTV to log into our NetFlix account to watch movies in the evenings. The property manager was responsive to any issues that we brought up. It was definitely a place we would stay in again.

Great location

This is a great location, short walk across the street to the beach. Centrally locating within the resort, it’s just a nice walk to general store (which kids visited daily!) The outdoor lagoon is nice. We seen alligator there for part of our stay. The nice screen porch over looks lagoon, although some new patio furniture would have made it more enjoyable. What is there seems to be very very old and felt dirty. The Inside of unit is very spacious and has a great floor plan, but again very outdated older furnishings. Great place , but in need of an update.

Wonderful!

We enjoyed our week here immensely!! The townhouse itself is soooo spacious, plenty of room for our family of 4 (including 2 teenagers) to spread out and hang out. Loved all the closet space. The location is perfect. We loved hanging out on the screened in porch and deck looking out onto the peaceful lagoon, and my husband and son fished right off the backyard. The walk to the beach/pool is the super quick and easy. We enjoyed lots of bike trails, and also used the Hilton Head outfitters right down the road to kayak the lagoon. Another review mentioned that they felt like they were "grandma's house" here, and I have to agree! There was something oddly comforting about the condo :) As others have said, we did NOT receive the code to the beach gate in our packet, even though the property manager says the include it. We had to call them to get it, which was a little annoying :( BUT, other than that, check-in was easy and we would happily stay here again!

I didn’t get the check-in information until the night before; I had to contact the property owner by phone. There was uncertainty of what the address was and the code to the beach access was not provided upon checkin. Once we got everything squared away it was a great week. Location was perfect; lagoon and ocean, close to General Store and tennis/bike rental. Will definitely stay here again. New property ownership but owner was prompt with response to our questions.
