Loved the house and amazed by the decoration in the house. The Ryoken room was excellent with a view of the sea.The people who run the place were very hospitable.

Amazing

Amazing. Great hospitality. A bit of a walk from ferry port so would advise a taxi (700Y) if you have a lot of luggage. Otherwise it’s really really close to main attractions.

What a great place this was! If I visit the island again, I'll definitely stay here. The hostel has breakfast and drinks available in the kitchen and beer and sake for a slight charge. Thank you Junya, you were an excellent host.

Home Away from Home

Posted Jul. 1, 2018 on Expedia
Pros: See above.
Cons: The less-used lobby area could perhaps be turned into a lounge area.
Location: The lodging is at the "far" end of town (opposite from the ferry terminal, in a mostly residential street, off the busy shopping thoroughfare.
Our group, a family of 9 from Hawaii & California, had a wonderful 2 night stay. The hostel feels more like an inn and is in a great location: on the other side of town, about a 15 minute walk if you know where you're going/have GPS assistance from the ferry. They have a wonderful Japanese bath and several other baths/showers. There are no convenience stores or markets on the island, so the frozen food ($3), sake/beer ($3), soft drinks and breakfast cereals/milk (both complimentary) were very appreciated. There are also a washer and dryer ($3/load), a variety of musical instruments that you can play, wi-fi and tons of travel literature. At the end of the dead-end street is a path that hooks up with the Mt. Misen Ropeway. There are floor to ceiling windows that look onto a small garden where local wildlife--deer and racoon dogs--love to visit (there's a resident indoor cat, as well). The private rooms on the second floor offer wonderful views of the town/water, and also have a sink and small refrigerator. The dorm rooms are on the first floor and are best for shorter stays, since the walls are thin. The owner/hosts are very respectful and accommodating.

Nice and quiet place to relax

Just like the quietness of this island. Away from the crowd and noise. The hotel is within walking distance to the shopping streets and scenic spots. Ideal place to get energise after extended months of work. Haha

Location: Not many restaurants are open at night. They mostly cater to day trippers.
Miyajima is a beautiful island and this is a great traditional Japanese inn The host is so accommodating.

When the only downside is that they could have provided hand towels in the bathroom anf kitchen, you know it's a good place.

A wonderful home

Posted May 17, 2017 on Lastminute
This is a large traditional home with lots of character. Very relaxed environment and close to all tourists sights. The owner is a great host who provides plenty of useful information. Overall, I was thrilled with my time here on Miyajima..
