First let me warn you that this hotel has two towers. We got the Kona tower which is the smaller of the two towers. We were told in the package that we were getting a partial ocean view. Partial was an under statement. At check in I asked the receptionist if we were getting a nice room. I can’t even make this up… He watched us and laughed, saying that we were not staying in the main hotel, but in the adjacent tower (Kona) and made sure we knew that we were staying in not the normal “standard” room that is offered in the main tower. For the money we spent 7 nights was not worth to stay in such a small room. If I could’ve added pics I would. We are just disappointed at this point. We are one day into our trip and just disappointed for the start.

At check in we were assigned a room with 2 double beds, we had asked for a king and were told they were completely sold out and bed selection is not guaranteed at their property, and most king rooms were assigned to airline crew. They told us we could check back the next day for a king room but once we check in we don’t want to go through the trouble of changing rooms so we just kept the double beds. The room we were given had a visibly dirty ice bucket, dusty fixtures in the bathroom, the faucet was not clean, and there was gray hair stuck to the wall. We called for the bathroom to be cleaned while we went out to dinner and all that was done was new towels dropped off. We called two more times before they finally replaced the dirty ice bucket. The faucet was cleaned but the dust and hair remained. At least half of the front desk staff I spoke to in person or on the phone were unfriendly and seemed uncaring of any issue I had. The parking lot was always very full, with $39 per night parking fees. The one thing I liked about this property is the convenience to walk over to Ala Moana center with a connecting walking bridge. But overall I would not stay here again.

I've stayed at this hotel 4 times in the past 18 months. I absolutely LOVE this hotel and staff. Their staff is so amazingly Friendly, courteous, Customer Service oriented and very accommodating to any requests you may have. You can be Assured each time I travel back to Honolulu, I'm staying at the Ala Moana hotel. Exceptional Hotel, Ocean views and room amenities. Two Thumbs UP!!!

Two much homeless close to the hotel,i couldn't walk without fear. But the hotel is amazing. Thank you for the service
