Our last stop before heading home
We truly enjoyed our stay at the Riccardi's. Sergio met us and took us to his beautiful home. The scenic drive along a elevated coastal road made us eager with anticipation. Upon arrival we were greeted by his wife. Both Sergio and his wife were warm and inviting, like family, making us feel right at home. They served us a refreshing drink and talked a while in broken English and Italian, then they showed us around their home. The outside areas and surrounding grounds were beautiful. They were complete with canopies and comfortable seating and auto- timed lighting. Sergio also showed us the outdoor shower for cleaning up after a nice beach day. There was a barbecue grill and a nice large table on the front porch for eating or just enjoying your wine and cheese before dinner or your morning expresso. The interior of the home was immaculate. There are 2 AC units that cool the entire house, which can be individually controlled. After a long beach day made it easy to sleep. The rooms and beds were very comfortable and had plenty of natural light. The second floor bedrooms had french doors leading to a nice balcony area. A very comfortable and relaxing home. The home is located about a 7 min drive to the beach. The ocean is warm and crystal clear. Be sure to bring your sandals or water shoes, the sand gets real hot after 12 o'clock. There are plenty of nice restaurants and a nice little pizzeria ( Celestina) right as you enter the town. It sells by the slice so you can try a whole variety of different toppings. Sperlonga is a lively town and events happen into the late evening/ early morning. So enjoy the live entertainment( a 6 piece band and a lovely singer on the promenade) and the lovely sea breeze and of course the delicious variety of food. Sergio was very kind, and checked in with us from time to time to see if we had any questions or needed anything. A gracious host along with his hospitable wife.
