We stayed at the hotel for a week for work. Unfortunately, we had a mixed experience. The good points • The room was great and comfortable. • The house keeping staff were also great and very accommodating when we had to work from the room. • Breakfast was great with a good selection. • The shuttle service was convenient and nice service to offer. • The spa treatment was also very good. The negatives of our stay • We had an issue with check-in which was not handled very well. Manager was not available and they said they would contact us but never did. • Room service was slow (took over an hour for a sandwich) and the wrong order delivered first. • Restaurant at hotel was disappointing on both occasions. Meals was requested medium. One meal over cooked and second visit burger was still raw.

Stunning Hotel but a Little Pestering

The hotel was pristine, and the room was great! It would be nice to have an iron in there, especially for busy business people on the go. The one weird thing is the number of times the hotel tried to contact me before my check-in. It was quite a nuisance. They emailed to confirm and then phoned me twice on the day of check-in. Neither time was I free to answer the call (the one time I was actually trying to scan my boarding pass for my flight and they were calling), but it felt a bit like I had a nanny! Very annoying!! Please use Whatsapp!!

Southern Sun Rosebank is in a convenient location, close to the city and just around the corner from Rosebank Mall. The staff advised against walking for security reasons, but it’s easy to get around with Uber or the hotel’s shuttle service to the mall. There is plenty of parking on-site, and the parking price is affordable. I really enjoyed the buffet breakfast, and the food at The Grill restaurant was also very good. Overall, I had a good stay and it’s a hotel I would recommend.

Good location, but lots of disturbance. Fire alarm went of at 1am evacuated guests from hotel, but was false alarm Lots of construction and they start hammering/ drilling from 7am. Made stay uncomfortable

The location of the hotel was excellent, only a 5 minute walk from the mall, with stores and restaurants for your convenience. My stay included a full breakfast buffet with a variety of items to select including a station for eggs and omelettes and coffee choices like cappuccino or regular. All tours I booked online picked up and dropped off at the hotel. Great value for the money. Will definitely stay here on my next trip to Joburg.
