Welcome to Sea Monkey and The Mermaid! Our home is a duplex located in Old Town and full of Key West charm. Both units are 2 BR, 2 BA. Walk to all the amenities that Old Town has to offer. We are located 5 short blocks to Duval and Historic Seaport. This is the listing to rent the upper unit named Sea Monkey.

Newly furnished in May 2021. New furniture, new bedding, new linens, fresh paint, new outdoor furniture.

Live like a local in this renovated, private, historic Key West home located in the heart of Old Town near the corner of Truman and Frances, five blocks from Duval and Historic Seaport. Some of the best restaurants in town are within 2 blocks: Seven Fish, Sandy's, Jose's, El Siboney, Ambrosia, Fausto's Grocery store.

This private duplex offers 2 units, an upper (vrbo # 2333364) and a lower (vrbo # 2331506, also a 2 BR, 2 BA, plus queen sleeper). This listing is for the upper unit, but both can be rented together. (Please inquire if interested in both units.) Sea Monkey has 2 bedrooms: one very large master with a king bed and 2 full size closets, and one with a queen bed. Both bedrooms have en suite bathrooms, There is a large bar in the kitchen with seating for 4... or enjoy your meals outdoors on the private covered deck with seating for 6. The living area has plenty of seating with all new furniture. There are Smart TV's in the living room and each of the 2 bedrooms. High speed internet is provided.

Modern "Old Town" Charm

We loved our stay in Sea Monkey! The 2 bedroom, 2 bath upper unit was supremely comfortable with central air and large beautifully decorated bedrooms with excellent mattresses. We especially enjoyed watching palm trees in the breeze against the background of a clear blue sky while playing games and enjoying dinner outside on the covered back deck. The great location afforded us an easy walk or bike ride to all that Key West has to offer. We couldn't imagine a better host than Marla. Thank you!

Perfect location, well maintained rental with everything you need to feel at home.

My daughter and I stayed at this property for a month. We spend our summers in KW and decided to try this property this year. Marla is the best host! She keeps in contact up until and through the trip. This property had everything that you would need to feel right at home. A fully stocked kitchen with all cookware necessary to make full meals, a washer/dryer combo to keep up with your laundry. The beds in both rooms are very comfortable. The property was very clean when we arrived and ready for us to check in. We had access to our own private balcony, as well as a backyard space with a gas grill. This property is centrally located on the island. We rented bikes for the month and only had to use my car to grocery shop once a week up on the north end of the island. Overall, we had a great experience! I cant wait to come back again next year to this property.

Great Stay at Sea Monkey

My Sis & I so enjoyed our stay at the lovely Sea Monkey upper unit that we plan to come again in 2024. The location was in a quiet neighborhood1/2 block from Truman and away from the noise of Duvall. We could reach Duvall and most anywhere we wanted to go within a 15 to 25 minute walk. The unit had everything one could want for cooking and comfort and had 3 lovely outdoor areas. We never used the backyard seating area as the upper balcony served our needs for eating and playing games, and we also enjoyed reading in the rocking chairs on the front porch. We only had one minor issue. A slow tub drain & Marla was there immediately to fix it. All in all a 5 star experience.

Great condo

The condo was wonderful and it had a fully stocked kitchen with all types of cookware to cook anything. I love to cook. It also had an outdoor grill (most places do not). The owner, Marla, was great. We walked everywhere and took the “free bus” daily. Nice restaurants close by, and a grocery store too. I would highly recommend this condo rental.

Fabulous Month Away from Home

Marla was a fantastic host and the home was clean, well-appointed and just as advertised. It is a short walk to just about any place you want to be in Key West, just far enough away to have a serene and quiet space away from the hustle of Duval. We truly enjoyed our month away and I would absolutely recommend this unit to anyone heading down to Key West for a visit.

As soon as I walked in the door of this VRBO I couldn’t believe how nice it was. The guests that visited me were also very impressed. This rental is a few blocks from Duvall and really a few blocks from anywhere on Key West. I had a beautiful and restorative one month stay at this property. The owner was attentive and had everything organized as far as check in and check out. I intend to rent this same location next year.
