River Run Condo w/ Village View, Short Walk to Lifts, Shops, Dining & Gondola

This 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom condo sleeps 4 with a Queen bed and a Lazboy Queen sleeper sofa. It features village views from the large window in the open concept living area, dining area and kitchen, plus a gas fireplace. It also has an updated kitchen and bathroom. Ideally located in River Run Village so you’re just steps away from shopping, restaurants and local festivities. Plus, you're a very short walk from the high-speed gondola. Black Bear Lodge offers shared amenities including a sauna and hot tub. Access to Dakota Lodge pool and hot tubs.

The living area features a flat screen TV, Blu-ray + DVD's, a gas fireplace, ceiling fan, and a Lazboy queen-sized sleeper sofa. Extra sheets and blankets in a closet. The homeowner has provided a selection of books and board games for your enjoyment. The large windows offer natural light and views of River Run village.

The full kitchen is stocked with all the essential cookware and tableware to make a meal away from home and features granite counters and stainless steel appliances. The dining area comfortably seats two with three additional seats at the breakfast bar. Both the kitchen and dining area feature new light fixtures.

The bedroom features a Qing-sized bed with Ultra-Premium linens and a mounted flat screen TV with a Blu-ray player. The bathroom has a single sink vanity with granite countertops and a shower/tub combination. It is stocked with towels and an initial supply of toiletries.

I would definitely stay here again! It was a cute,very clean condo with a nicer gas fireplace in the heart of River Run Village. The kitchen had everything I needed. My view out the window is the The Crepe Stand and Christy Sports shop. It’s closer to the gondola than Silver Mill, Dakota, Buffalo, and a few other lodges there. I took off 1 star bec my first night was uncomfortable. There was an overpowering odor similar to Pine Sol and Ben-gay in the unit! I had to open all the windows, use the ceiling fan, run 2 box fans, and call the property manager for an air purifier. Since it was off-season, maintenance was not available to address the problem the evening I checked in, but they did come by the next day with an ionizer. That, combined with my efforts, cleared out that smell. Then I could enjoy the place.

Black Bear Lodge

We have been staying in this property each year for the last several years. The property is very conveniently located. the floor plan is perfect for two. the unit is in need of some rejuvenation. bathroom fan will wake up the dead. Caulk came off the hot tub in one six foot chunk. Cabinets need refinishing. the checkin time and flexibility on that is unacceptable. i have requested a couple times to checkin 30 minutes early. (4:30pm check in time is crap, to begin with).. No flexibility or options. Had a zoom call this time that i ended up doing in the rental car because of the lack of checkin flexibility. I own properties too and can get them cleaned and inspected for occupancy well before 430pm.Last, the parking garage smelled like a garbage dump. Fix the garbage issue if you want people to come back.

Fall trip

We love Keystone and come up often. This time it was for a time to just relax and enjoy the coolness and quiet of the season before ski season hits. We have only stayed in the River Run village 3 times of our stays in Keystone. This one was the best so far as far as location. My only complaint was the people upstairs were loud all day and evening. Not quite sure what was going on. Just some thoughts, Shower area in bathroom could be changed a bit. I know cost wise and maybe even keeping clean might be an issue but it would be nicer to have glass doors and wall for the outer part of the shower. Shower curtain smelled sour even though it was clean and it seemed to just want to be in the shower with me. Also a handle be for stepping up and out would be nicer as well since it wasnt a walk out shower. Small things in the condo could be changed a bit not anything big but for instance coffee filters they need to be out with the coffee maker if it is to be used and only one coffee pod was given to use otherwise we had to use our own coffee which is fine but we couldn’t find coffee filters until we pulled out the coffee cups in the cabinet. They could be placed with the coffee maker in a basket. Soap and shampoo for bathroom would be better use if it was in a wall dispenser with body wash and shampoo etc. Small soaps are ridiculous. We of course lived with just the small itty bitty bar. It did the job. If as long term stay it would be better if there was something different.

A place to stay for business

Keystone is one of my favorite places to stay, especially in the summer. What makes it even better is being right in the heart of the River Run village. Everything is within walking distance: decent restaurants, coffee shops, apparel, bike/ski rentals. I could go on. This spot fits the bill. I’ll definitely be staying here again.

Property was a great location. Walking distance to restaurants, bars, shops, and the gondolas/lifts. Very clean and well furnished. Would stay there again. Only complaint was a lack of hot water around 5-6 pm as I imagine the entire unit was getting back from the slopes and trying to shower.

Black Bear Resort

This location is incredibly convenient to getting on and off the lifts, as well as restaurants and shopping. The ski locker storage was convenient too. First 2 nights there was no hot water. Hot water is supplied by the facility not by each room. Parking was easy. The unit itself could use an upgrade to the flooring, the bathroom has been renovated. j If you use the pullout couch there is no room to sit or walk around unless you put the couch up every day...so ideal for 2 people, more than that it is tight There is a community washer and Dryer which was convenient, although backed up some times. Spa is small, only holds 6 ppl and you have to go EARLY or LATE to use it. Gym should be turned in to something different owner responded quickly with questions

Black Bear is a great location for Keystone River Run. Close to everything, and no exhausting walk to the gondola, but no ski-in-ski-out pricing. Only thing I would advise: get some towel racks in the bathroom! Three wide open walls and nowhere to put towels to dry. Very very annoying. Otherwise, great experience!

Needs renovation

A few things were bothersome. I only stayed there 12 hours and had a cleaning fee that was nearly double the room fee. I get that is part of the package. But, if I pay that, i want a clean looking, well kept place. The VRBO post comments on areas of new renovation. The carpet has stains. Couch is gross. The door in the bathroom cabinet was broken and there were gross white smears in the outside door. The bedroom was nice and fresh looking. The checkin process is a pain. We are used to taking a bus from Breck to ski 1-2 night in Keystone. So, no car. For this condo, you have to go to a management company to pick up the door access card. So, I had to treck our gear on the bus to the property management. I called and asked for a key delivery and they said “nope.” I called again and they said “nope” again. Why not have a lock box on site? It’s 2023 folks and I could see other owners did this.. But, location is good. Keystone itself is great. Overall, the condo is shabby. I sent this review to the management company prior to posting- to be fair to them. I was told that this was out of their control (the key access set up). They did ask for photos, which I will send them, so they can following up on cleaning. I think the cleaning crew did fine. It’s just a shabby place.
