This was our second week long stay at this amazing property. If you want the best Thai food, beach for yourself, quiet and relaxing break - then this place is for you. The family who runs the Bungalows is the most friendly and welcoming you will ever meet in Thailand. You will get whole bungalow for yourself, super spacious with a great bed - and even the cold shower feels refreshing after hot day on the beach. Talking about the beach, this is only 10 metres away and you will probably meet 10 other people on the 1km stretch - that's all. It is very shallow and great for swimming and shell collecting. Make sure you eat there and to try Pad Thai, Tom Yum and Tom Ka. The juices are amazing and so is the coconut. They also have super friendly dog Tia who will follow you everywhere you go. When we were there she was only 3 months old - very cute:-) We are definitely coming back and you should visit!

If you like to chill and relax and have the beach all to yourself, this is the place for you !!! If you want to party stay in Ao Nang The power is out during the day, but you're out and about, sono big deal. Great restaurant, and family run establishment. I really enjoyed over a week there... Highly recommend !!!

I literally cannot say enough good things about this place and its owners (it is a family run business) they were so kind to us, the food was incredible, and I don’t know that you will ever get such a private beach for this price anywhere.

Amazing!

This place is amazing and was one of the more magical experiences that we had in Thailand. Right on the beach - no one around. When the tide is down you can walk out far into the water and see starfish and sand dollars. The restaurant makes great food and fruit shakes right there on the sand. The staff are very friendly and attentive. I enjoyed it so much because it was so remote and relaxing. However, you have to go there with the mindset that you are camping on the beach. The bungalows are great and comfortable but there is no hot water (it's not too cold though) and since it is so remote they can only run electricity at night. To us, this place was a pleasant surprise and a great time-out from our busy trip. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Beautiful hidden hotel with its own beach!

Our stay at the Sand Beach hotel was amazing. The staff are so nice and polite, very friendly and helpful. The rooms and the whole hotel area is very clean, and their food at the restaurant is amazing! The hotel is hidden away from the main area and its perfect as a getaway! But also is within easy access to Ao Nang. We either walked down the beach to Ao Nang or we rented a scooter from the hotel when we wanted to go elsewhere. Perfect for couples. If you want to have the luxury of having pretty much a private beach, quiet hidden place, but also be able to access the busy town with ease - this is the perfect place for you!!!

Hidden gem

We had a wonderful stay here and I would return to this beautiful place! You are very remote here and the only access is by using a tuc tuc or taxi as Aonung is about a 10 minute drive. The facilities are basic but clean and the food and hosts are lovely! I would recommend this place, probably not for party goers or people desperate to spend their time on the Internet as there is only electricity between 1800-0500. A very relaxing, beautiful place!

A humble retreat food is good taxi from airport rip off beach nice but plastic evsrywhere bed was really uncomfortable a box spring with no matress no top sheet no hot water electricity only at night its cheap eh...so dont expect much...

The best experience we ever had! No kidding.

This is a place I would return again and again. The owners are absolutely lovely a amazing cooks. The kitchen us open from 7:30am until 9pm and they would cook these amazing dishes for you all the time. The best.food in Thailand. The location is on the long beach...far away from crowds and separated by river. You have peace and quiet, hammocks, nice beach chairs...ideal to recharge batteries and relax. You can rent a motorbike for 250 baht if you want and ride to Ao Nang if you want to. The bungalows are spacious, comfy and clean. Shower is cold one but you don't really.need a.hot shower. We stayed for 6 nights and would come again.

Excellent, private getaway to the wild!

Family owned bungalows near the seaside. Food is magnificent, staff is very helpful and friendly. The beach is huge and secluded. Nothing really to see underwater, though. Bungalows are spacious, clean and have fans. Tap water is salty. Scooters available for rent from staff for 250 THB a day.

Paradise on Private Beach

This was by far my favorite hotel throughout my trip in Thailand. The staff was extremely friendly. The food was delicious. There wasn't one thing that didn't taste fantastic. The hammocks right on the beach were great to take an afternoon nap in. We shared the beach with only 2-4 other people. It was Heaven on Earth. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely be back. Not to mention the sea being steps away from your bungalow and the water being crystal clear and warm. I love Krabi!

Heavenly view, food, and peaceful paradise

Our family of five adults had a fantastic stay that was even better than the already great reviews we had read. This stay was the best one we have had. The staff are amazingly helpful and we appreciated their advice for excursions which they helped book, along with taxi rides. The food is truly the best...we will dream about the freshly made Thai meals which we ate while looking at the sea view. The beach is pristine, the water aquamarine, the walks along the shore restful. If you want a quiet uncrowded beach, this is it. The stay some rustic "do-able" parts such as electricity access only from 6 pm to 6 am, cold showers which worked in 92 degree heat, and wifi only for evening hours. It helped us "unhook" which was beneficial. This was heavenly and will be long remembered.

Paradise is twice as nice at half the price.

Loved it Arrived late so the kitchen should have been closed. Instead Tip arranged a table on the beach for us in a perfect spot and helped us choose some lovely food! We were sold. The whole family are lovely, friendly and helpful. The beach is lovely. Lots of crabs and starfish to find. We swam out 400 metres and could still stand up. Very relaxing stay. Rooms comfortable and had all we needed. Got a taxi bike tuk tuk home quite late one night and one of the lovely ladies came running out to meet us. She spoke to the driver a bit, chastised him for charging us too much, gave us some of our money back and sent him on his way! I'll never forget that. It was only a small amount and I'd had a few drinks so wasn't that bothered but I felt she was on our side and kind of protecting us as if we were one of the family. That is how we felt throughout our stay. The fact that the power is off from 6am until 6pm only adds to the feeling of serenity and helps you to kick back and totally relax. It also encourages you to put down your electronic devices, take a walk and enjoy nature. We stayed in Thailand for 3 weeks in total. 4 nights at Sand Beach Bungalow. In that time we stayed in places that work out as 14 times the price of Sand Beach!! Very posh we'll appointed 5 star resorts. Next time we will only stay at Sand Beach Bungalow even if the 5 star resorts are cheaper! Nuf said. Stay for the experience and remember it's the imperfections that make it perfect.

Found rest again in Sand Beach Bungalow

This was really a getaway!!! Forgot about business life and enjoyed the silence and beautiful surrounding! Hospitality of Tip and her 'family' was worth more then a 10! The food --> one word: DELICIOUS. Next year I will come back. (the no electricity during the day really is big effort not to open laptop/cellphone/tablet--> back to basic)

Relaxed & friendly getaway 5km from Ao Nang

Stayed for 6 days and was heartbroken when I had to leave. The owner Tip and the rest of the staff were very friendly and helpful, will have to come back next year :) The kitchen was quite popular even with people from other nearby bungalows, I'll let that speak for itself. Only down sides were that the place was a bit hard to find (had a map and the taxi driver still had to ask for directions, plus it cost 500 baht), no aircon or hot water (only fan) in the bungalows, and they only had electricity from 6pm to 5am. They do have complimentary books for you to read and hammocks to chill in though. If you want a relaxed place right next to a beach away but not too far away from the masses of tourists, this is definitely the place to visit!
