What a great stay. The room was perfect for our family… Mom, Dad and three adult sized older children over 18. Our room had a nice common area, small kitchen, and three bedrooms, essentially sleeping six. There were two bathrooms, also, which was very helpful. The washer /dryer is nice to have but takes a looooong time to wash and dry a small load. Some user error played into our learning curve- just give a long time and follow the directions. They are so welcoming here and offer a great happy hour downstairs. We enjoyed chatting with other guests from around the world! Highly recommend.

I would like to thank this property for its utmost patience with my group traveling. We inconvenienced the team with late check in and a bigger group size and they were very professional with addressing that issue/abiding by hotel policy. I am grateful for the staff and of course the Mimaru properties are lovely. Big shout out to the Kyoto Shijo staff.

We really enjoyed our stay here and wish we could have stayed more nights . We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment and it was great for our family . The free sake and beer was a bonus.

Five stars for Mimaru Suites Shijo Kyoto!
Posted Aug. 21, 2023 on HotelsWe are a family of four, including our sons, age 17 and 20. We stayed in five different hotels in Japan during our vacation and this was by far our favorite. We stayed in a 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment. Check in was seamless. The apartment was immaculate and roomy. It had a nicely equipped kitchen. The hotel offers a menu in the lobby of things you can borrow like phone chargers and wine glasses. They also provide coffee, tea and juice in the morning and complimentary happy hour with beer and sake in the evening. The front desk staff were all lovely and helpful. The location of the hotel was super convenient to Kyoto Station as well as Gion/Pontocho and the shopping district. There are also many restaurants and convenience stores in the surrounding area. We were able to walk almost everywhere. Highly recommend!

Amazing property! We have a large and modern 2 bedroom apartment with a washer/dryer. The best part of the stay was the daily happy hour where you can help yourself to very good beer or saki, while the children colour and do crafts. The hotel staff had very good recommendations for dining. The hotel is centrally located and very convenient. It is the vibrant and modern Kyoto downtown with good proximity to other areas.

This was a fantastic property. The location is great, and the room was spacious with all of the described amentities. Free beer, coffee, and tea were nice touches.
