The property was clean, as advertised, and nicely appointed. The location was perfect and in the middle of things, but what sold it to us was the rooftop deck. All of Martinâs restaurant recommendations were spot on, especially Chefâs Kitchen, Bella, Rosa, and Vimar. A very charming seaside town in southern Portugal.
The biggest advantage of this property is its excellent locationâjust steps from the beach and right along the main drive, with restaurants, shops, and two small grocery stores conveniently around the corner.
The apartment appears recently renovated and has comfortable beds. Air conditioning in each room was a major plus, especially in warmer weather. Linens and towels were clean, and rooftop access was a nice bonus since the unit itself has no views beyond neighboring buildings.
One challenge is that the entrance is down a short alley with no nearby parking, which makes loading and unloading luggage difficult.
Guests should also note the apartment is minimally stocked. There was only one set of towels per guest for the stay and no basic supplies such as hand soap, shampoo, paper towels, laundry detergent, or extra trash bags. The nearby grocery stores help, but itâs something to plan ahead for.
The biggest drawback was the hot water capacity. The water heater does not support multiple consecutive showersâdifficult even for two people and likely very challenging for a family of four.
