Downtown Leavenworth 'Bergen Haus'

Enjoy convenience and excitement staying just ONE BLOCK from downtown Leavenworth. Within 5 minutes you can walk to authentic European-style shops, enjoy quaint Bavarian music, and visit our local breweries. Right across the street is a fully stocked local grocery store, Dan's. Leavenworth offers easy access to skiing, mountain bike trails, hiking trails, riverfront paths and an enchanting downtown stroll. Arrive by train or park the car in your private space (room for 4 vehicles plus on street parking) for the weekend. This turn-of-the-century home has old world charm and a cozy atmosphere that will take you away from your work-a-day lifestyle. Bergen Haus is a comfortable and welcoming home that has been enjoyed by many families throughout the years.

The 5 bedrooms have comfortable queen sized beds with ample space for luggage and personal items. A large living room, and dining area provide plenty of room for the family get together or friends enjoying each other's company. Meals are easily prepared in the modern, well appointed kitchen. Family members can sit by the cozy fireplace and enjoy this retreat after an active day. For hot summer days we have added AC window units (in two of the bedrooms) plus ceiling fans throughout the home & bedrooms.

This was a mixed experience.The location was great. Right on the front street and a short walk to everything. The number of bedrooms and bathrooms was as listed. Everything was clean.However, the bedrooms were very very small. The beds were not comfortable at all. The floor was so creaky everywhere that it often distributed the folks sleeping downstairs. The freezer section had a bunch of broken shelves so we couldn’t properly freeze our baby’s milk. The bathrooms didn’t have locks on them. The front entrance was unusable for going out because a key wasn’t provided for it. The heater in living room kept turning off in the night, making the living space super cold in the night.For almost 2k, I expected more.

This a great place we all enjoyed it and the old craftsman home. There is one thing to improve. The WiFi is too weak to operate the tv on apps. Too. Many stops and freezes in the middle of prime products I think a WiFi booster should be considered. Still I rate this a 5 star.

The Bergen Haus was great for our family! We loved that it was walkable to downtown and had plenty of bedrooms. The kitchen had everything we needed and was very organized. The family room and dining room had plenty of space and we enjoyed the large dining room table.Keep in mind though it is listed as air conditioned only 2 of the bedrooms had window units and the downstairs windows are painted shut. There were fans in each bedroom but rooms did get warm. It is an old house so know that with that charm comes squeaky floors and doors that don't quite close. Mixed reviews from our group on the comfort of the beds. Overall we recommend and would stay again!!

We had the most amazing time at this rental!!! Our friends absolutely loved the house, the kitchen was great and the spaces inside and outside to play games was perfect for us!! Our only non issue was that the bathrooms don’t have a lock on them, but otherwise it was all perfect!!

Great family time

Perfect, as long as it isn't really hot in Leavenworth during your stay

We had a lovely time at this charming property, conveniently located, with plenty of space, enjoying meals and playing games together. Questions to the host before our stay were answered quickly. We appreciated that air con units were turned on before our arrival because it happened to be pretty hot in Leavenworth during our stay and only 2 bedrooms have air conditioning. The people who had rooms without air con upstairs unfortunately ended up sleeping on the couch and floor downstairs because it was too hot with only fans. With sharing this information though, we would recommend this property for a trip to Leavenworth.

Unseasonable warm

Things we liked about the property. The house was beautiful, clean and very close to town. We could easily walk back and forth. The backyard was quaint and cozy. There were enough rooms for everyone to have their own bedroom. What we didn't like. We live in an old farmhouse and understand there would not be central air. We however thought we would be able to open windows to cool the house down. We could not open any windows because they were painted shut. The bedrooms upstairs had ceiling fans but were on low speed and we could not change that. The 2 downstairs bedrooms did not have ceiling fans. We unfortunately hit a very warm weekend (in the upper 80's/low90's), and the house was quite hot. I sent a message to owner to see if there were any fans in the house. I never got an answer which was frustrating. We searched all the closets and found enough for each bedroom. This house is not a great choice for summer weather but would be perfect for fall or winter.

Review of stay

This was such a lovely home with such nice detail, thoughtful additions such as puzzles, kids games, plenty of plates and cups to use and lovely rooms. Just a heads up to the owners that several of the outlets in the kitchen are not working, the lights in the living room in the ceiling fans were not reachable and the overhead lighting in that area as a result was really dim. Otherwise, the stay was great!

Annual birthday trip

We have 5 couples and this house was perfect with each room having a queen bed. It is an easy walk to town, just the perfect location. This was our second time staying here. We plan to book again! Thank you!
