Nice but expected more

Estate and grounds are amazing and give the feeling of grandure. Our room was clean and spacious, but the tea and coffee was limited with one sachet of Nescafé standard coffee per person. Spa was small for the size of the venue, however was clean and staff pleasant. Restaurant starters were very nice but main course were bland and did not meet expectation again for the grandure the hotel appears to offer

Lovely building and grounds. Most of the staff were very good. Robbie in the restaurant was helpful as was the man on reception. Rooms very dated. Not much vegan choice of food on the menu. There is also no porter to help with luggage and no robes or slippers to go to the spa.

Place is ver nice, staff are fantastic, moan is our room toilet seat had blood in it, not nice. Spa was lovely but quite small with lots of men in it. It is a golf place so understandable. Parking can be tricky, again because of golf. Would i stay again, maybe but lots of spa hotels are more peaceful. Wife had a great treatment in the spa.

We had a lovely time. The hotel is set in very scenic surroundings, the interior keeps its country house feel and is both welcoming and homely. The staff are very friendly and the menu is great, the food cooked well and very tasty. Would definitely recommend it to friends and family and we'll be going back if we get opportunity to.

Comfiest bed I've ever slept in! Room was lovely, spacious, great shower. Spa facilities lovely but some areas looking a bit tired and due a refurb. Very clean and enjoyable though. Service for lunch and breakfast was very slow - big queue for hot food on the first morning and not replenished quickly, much better next morning. Service in the drawing room, tables left untidied for over an hour, repeatedly asked for some tap water and sugar but never came - think they were understaffed. However, still a wonderful stay and we will definitely be back!!

Dreadful Golf Course

Probably the worst kept golf course i have played in the UK which is a real shame as the course layout was quite challenging but the green conditions were dire bordering on a public park pitch n putt quality. The AV sound system used in the large conference for speeched was very poor and sounded like something from a Chinese Karaoke Bar. Very disappointing and wont be returning next year for the annual AGM.
