Room clean but aircon a joke
Posted Mar. 5, 2024 on HotelsThis is an ‘ok’ hotel generally. Room was clean, food was reasonable. Service was decent.
Two problems for me:
1. Room aircon - you really only have two options, two hot or two cold, and to switch between them an engineer needs to change the settings above the ceiling. He even joked that he spends half the day switching rooms between these settings.
2. The gym - I know everyone uses these, but while well appointed, much of the equipment was old, had pieces missing or was in need of a much needed service.
Overall, an ok hotel if temperature is not a consideration and you don’t mind bits falling off your exercise bike.

Nice hotel in good location near to the Albert Dock. Rooms were very clean and spacious and good selection of food at breakfast.
Our only disappointment was the pool. This was the main reason we chose this hotel and whilst I understand the gym and pool are open to non- guests, there were lots of older people “swimming” who made the children feel as though they were a bit of an inconvenience!! The ladies changing rooms are being refurbished so a temporary room was in service which was actually like an old storage room and not fit for purpose. Also the pool area was very dated and the tiles were quite unclean in places. I think the whole area could do with being updated or at least deep cleaned.
