"Been here several times and it's always wonderful. On the surface, it's a nicely appointed motor lodge or cabin, but it's the whole situation that makes it incredibly special. Big Meadows sits on the edge of a mountain, with a view into the Shenandoah Valley. There is a restaurant with a stunning view right from the dining room, a grill, and pub, all of which have different food, and you can walk out right from there on a number of hikes. A quick drive along Skyline Drive will bring you to several other iconic hikes of all difficulty levels, and many excellent views right from the road. Watching the fog roll up the mountains and through the trees around the lodge is magical. The one thing to be aware of is that the bathrooms are pretty basic and the water pressure is meh. But the ambiance and location can't be beat."

"Breakfast was a little pricey. The room we had did not have a mini fridge or microwave, which I should have noticed prior to booking. So that’s on me. Area is beautiful and the staff are nice and helpful. I will be back with my kids so they can enjoy it too. "
