Soul Oasis - home on the Chesapeake Bay
About this space You can hear the waves of the Chesapeake Bay from the new trex deck. The beach is a short walk away where you can find fossils and sharks teeth and see plenty of nature. A great place to relax and unwind. You will hear the sounds of all kinds of birds, see lots of very tiny frogs and maybe some deer! You can also expect to see and hear all kinds of aircraft from Pax River Base fly overhead! Book your stay today and let the magic of the woods and water wash away your cares. The space Bedroom with twin trundle beds on the main floor. Spiral stairs to the loft and queen size bed with small balcony outside. There is no bathroom in the loft. The bathroom is on the main floor and is small. We provide extra linens for the extra trundle and couch space, if needed. The house is heated with electric baseboard heat on the lower level and a mini-split in the loft. Guest access You may access the basement separately from the outside where we keep beach chairs and the washer and dryer.
Soil Oasis is a wonderful property! Even prettier than the photos online, and the outdoor amenities (fire pit, deck chairs, hammock) are such a nice perk. Teresa was incredibly accommodating with my schedule change and the details she provided on-site for local recommendations and directions to the beach were greatly appreciated. Beds were very comfortable, everything was clean and organized, and the property was quiet.
Great Stay! The neighborhood is quiet, the place is close to what's pictured, the entrance and driveway are not shown correctly. There is no driveway or road, there's some stones to walk on in the woods, but there's no road. The entrance is where the bathroom is with sheer curtains so a peeping tom could easily see through the windows. The bathroom is small with the toilet being in the corner of the room behind the shower and the sink. So if you're under 4ft tall it's fine but for the average person this is hard to maneuver in and if you're obese no way will you fit in the corner to get to the only working toilet. The property itself has pollination, dust, and pet dander in it from not being cleaned my sinuses became completely clogged while in there. The laundry room is in an unfinished basement which seemed sketchy. I'm tired of people not properly listing their amenities. They did order an iron but there's no ironing board for the clothes. And the lights inside are all on bad wiring so the lamps don't properly light up their circuits are almost failing. I was concerned to use the electricity while there. The refrigerator is not cleaned or deiced so have fun with that. The beach access who knows where it is, there's no immediate beach access unless you want to fall down a 20ft slope into the water. You can see it from the trees but there's no immediate walk out access to the beach/waterfront.
Soul oasis is amazing! My kids (7 and twins 5) went crazy with excitement when they walked in the first time. It was so welcoming and relaxing for me. It is a unique place and I couldn't possibly list everything we enjoyed, but here's the highlights:- Inside is gorgeous and well maintained. Beds are comfy, kitchen has everything a cook needs, great room and tv with streaming was great for kid downtime. Everyone used the deck and hammock. You can hear the waves and birds as you meditate out there.- Beach access is easy. It is a shallow cove, so great for wading, nature/fossil hunting, sunbathing, and sandcastles. There were fossils everywhere. So private that we were the only ones there. Best to check the NOAA tide predictions for Solomons Island so you can hit it at low tide.- Community has several other beaches. We spent hours swimming, playing, picnicking, and meeting friendly neighbors at Seahorse Beach. - Town had the Giant grocery store, Ledo pizza, Starbucks, and playgrounds we needed. Cove Point playground was a hit!- Last but cerainly not least: Teresa made this process so easy on me. We are going through a hard time with a family loss and she answered all my messages promptly, with kindness and helpfully. Thank you so much Teresa! We made happy memories here and will definitely go back again!
Beautiful place, very clean and nicely decorated. The only thing I wish was better was to have a bathroom upstairs and the stairs to be a bit easier to access, they are a bit tricky for those over 50:) nice view too!
Great little spot to enjoy the coast and Calvert Cliffs area. Close enough to shopping and restaurants but still secluded in nature. Teresa was great with answering questions timely and had the place looking good when we got there.
We enjoyed returning to CRE where we had lived for many years. This property was cute and comfortable with easy beach access. We were wondering about a visitor tag for visiting the other CRE beaches/lake nearby.
the house was perfect for a quick weekend away. we walked to the beach but must have been high tide since there was little sand. could hear the waves from the deck so very enjoyable.
We had the most lovely stay! The hammock on the deck looks up into the forest canopy and the trail down to the hidden shore line is delightful. We swam and watched osprey fishing and crabbing boats go by. Searched for fossils at nearby Flag Ponds and visited the Cove Point lighthouse. Such a wonderful retreat for nature-loving parents and kids!
We had a great weekend, seeing crabs in the private beach area (in a separate marsh/ water), frogs, heron birds, trying to fish, and jumping in waves. The house worked well for a short stay.
Recommended, if you are a family that loves nature, walk, explore, I recommend it. If you have children under 7 years old, you have to think about it. This place is wonderful for adults 100%
This property is amazing! The cabin is perched on a little peninsula where you can hear the soothing sound of the waves from the bay side. The wide deck is a great spot to unwind, lie in the hammock, and listen to birds and leaves rustling in the breeze.
The interior decor is a mix of retro and vintage inspired pieces, making the cabin feel like a 1960s retreat with modern amenities.
We found all the beds to be super comfortable and the AC unit is strong, so summer visitors should not suffer from the Maryland humidity.
The public access beach is a short walk away and we came home with many beach treasures like quartz pebbles and spiral shells. You can watch crabs and small fish up close during low tide.
All in all, we loved this vintage cabin and would gladly stay here again! It's a truly special place full of charm and will help you make distinctive holiday and vacation memories.
The house is clean and cozy, with everything you need for a short trip, and the host was responsive. The nearby beach is fun for exploring - we saw a large snapping turtle in the pond there! The location was perfect for going shark tooth hunting and visiting Solomons. We would happily stay here again!
