Sonshine Cabin is your own private park. With wildlife or a hike to the creek.

Welcome to the Sonshine Cabin The cabin is located on approximately 15 acres and offers peace and quiet along with lots of wildlife to enjoy.. Conveniently located to Historic Madison ,Versailles, Friendship and 2 state parks. The cabin has 1800 sq of living space which includes a fully equipped , completely renovated kitchen to prepare meals. Enjoy your meals on a custom built table in the dining area. On the back deck you can enjoy grilling on a Blackstone grill with outdoor seating. On the main level is the great room with a stone fireplace. There is plenty of seating with a big leather sectional, a sleeper sofa to relax. Make your way up the stairs, you will notice the beautiful handmade cedar railings, made from cedar trees off the property. Upstairs you will find 3 private bedrooms all with Queen beds. We also have a toddler bed and provide a pack n play for smaller children. There is 1 full bath upstairs and a half bath on the main level. One of the favorite places is the front porch with seating to watch the wildlife! It is a short hike to the creek, which offers hours of fun for the kids. You can also enjoy roasting
Hotdogs and s’mores at the fire pit, pitch some horseshoes, or play some frisbee golf. If you are looking for a peaceful park like setting then Sonshine cabin is for you. We have recently added a security camera. It is on the outside of the cabin. There are no cameras inside the cabin. We respect your privacy and added the camera for security only. The cabin is located in a private area and we felt the camera would give guests additional peace of mind.

The hosts were very friendly and responsive, the cabin was charming, clean and well cared for and the kitchen was nicely redone. My kids really liked the large yard to run around and the trail to the creek. It's off the beaten path so it's peaceful and private but not in the middle of nowhere so it's an easy drive to Madison or Versailles if you need to go to the store or want to walk around the downtown.Overall it was a great time and I would definitely stay there again!

This place is a gem!! Beautiful, clean and comfortable. We were in town for our daughter’s wedding and they allowed us to take the bridal pictures on the property, which is gorgeous!! I can’t to see them! Thank you so much Jackie, you were wonderful to work with!

Sonshine Cabin was amazing! Our entire family enjoyed the serenity of the outdoors with bird watching, nightly firefly beauty, picking wild flowers and hiking to and through the creek. The cabin was clean, well supplied with everything we needed to enjoy a stress free vacation. The hosts were accommodating and communication with them was easy and friendly. We could love to stay at Sonshine Cabin next time we are in the area. Thank you for providing such a relaxing place to stay!

Peaceful cabin!

This was our second stay at Sonshine cabin and it was amazing! We wanted to get away somewhere relaxing for our anniversary. Sonshine cabin was the perfect spot!! Check-in was very easy & we had good communication with Greg & Jackie. The kitchen is very adequately stocked with anything you could need. We enjoyed having meals on the front porch so we could watch the birds! We enjoyed a hike to the creek and also a game of disc golf. We highly recommend Sonshine cabin!!

Sisters trip

This is our 4th stay at the cabin. We have been doing sister trips for 26 years and I have to say this cabin was stocked better than any of the others. The beds were extremely comfortable and the landscaping and grounds are meticulously kept. We will definitely be back for a 5th year

Beautiful cabin in the Country

This home is perfect for a larger family or a couple of families traveling together. There’s plenty of space inside to spread out or to all be together. There’s a wonderful front porch where you can enjoy the birds coming to the birdfeeder seeing the hummingbirds and the woodpeckers and the bluebirds. In the backyard there’s a place to sit and eat outside. There’s also a fire pit together around or if you feel like a short walk you can take a hike down to the creek where when there’s enough water there will also be a waterfall. We stayed here when our daughter graduated from Hanover in 2023. We knew as our youngest was graduating this year that we wanted to come back and stay again. There’s never enough time here we’re always busy doing other things so we have made it a goal to come back and stay some time when we have nothing going on and we can just enjoy the property and each other.

Sheer perfection

I have never stayed someplace more perfect than Sonshine Cabin. The owners truly have thought of everything. The beds were so amazing and made it hard to get out of bed in the morning, but the beauty of the property was calling our name. The covered porch was perfect for morning coffee. This place was perfect to restore and refresh our weary souls. It truly felt like a home away from home with no chores or tasks to attend to, leaving room to focus more on finding that peaceful, restful, place I believe we all long for and should prioritize more often. If you are a believer I am quite certain you will sense God's presence in an obvious way. Be prepared to not want to leave this sheer perfect sanctuary of peace and solitude. And don't worry, there are plenty of opportunities for fun things as well so it has something for everyone. Already planning our next visit. Thank you Jackie and Greg so much for exactly what we needed this weekend. Blessings on you both and your property as well.

Perfect place for weekend family getaway!

This cabin was perfect for our annual family getaway without traveling too far from home. The setting in the woods with a short trail walk to a creek with a beautiful waterfall was exactly as described. The cabin was very clean with all the amenities you could ask for. Jackie is a wonderful attentive host! We were excited to see all the birds while sitting on the comfortable front porch. We also saw deer and wild turkey in the adjacent field. Will definitely come back and would like to explore more of the surrounding area.

Spotless, Safe, Serene, Secret Spot

A truly perfect place to get away. Incredibly clean, tactfully decorated, well-stocked with amenities, safe and secluded cabin away from it all yet nearby to downtown Madison Indiana. My wife, my kids, and I did not want to leave. The swings in the yard and on the front porch created dreams for us. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home.

We asked the kids the best part and they said playing at the cabin. They love the creek down below and the fish that sings. The cabin was clean and well stocked with kitchen needs. Plenty of blankets to snuggle up on the couch as well.

Fantastic Cabin

This home/cabin is a great place to stay. It has so many positives. The interior is very comfortable and inviting, with nice woodwork throughout the kitchen, living area, and bedrooms. Outside has a great front porch, deck in back, spacious yard and trees, and a winding path down through the woods to the creek and waterfall. Very quiet and private area. 15 miles or so to downtown Madison, which has walkable main street with nice shops and restaurants. Clifty Falls State Park has great hiking. Lots of rain when we visited, but, that didn't dampen our enjoyment. And, made the waterfalls more dramatic.

Another great stay

This was our 4th stay here! The location is just what our family wants/needs. Lots of privacy, huge yard for our boys to play in, great house set up, and the creek to play in. We love getting to watch all kinds of birds from sun up to sun down. Great front porch to enjoy morning coffee and the firepit out back for the evenings (or all day). Cozy Cabin

This was our third stay at Sonshine Cabin! We love the cozy feel of this cabin and that it is secluded and quiet. We enjoyed shopping in Madison, Clifty Falls, the creek down the trail behind the cabin, and just relaxing watching movies, sitting on the porch and cooking meals with our family and friends. We will definitely be back again.
