Nice getaway
Posted Aug. 25, 2021 on HomeAwayThis is a very comfortable cabin with lots of amenities. The kitchen is better equipped than many places we've stayed. The whole area is very quiet, especially during the weekdays. The weather was pleasant enough for us to eat almost all of our meals out on the very spacious deck. We enjoyed hiking and biking on some of the nearby trails. There is a large, sandy beach only a few kilometres north of the cabin. The four year old in our group loved looking for and picking wild raspberries. All in all, we had a lovely stay.

Beautiful rustic cabin
Posted Jul. 17, 2021 on HomeAwayThis quiet and well appointed cottage is located inside grindstone provincial park and was around 1 hrs 45 mins from Winnipeg. It has nice lakefront access for fishing or swimming off the dock and my school aged kids loved it. They caught walleye, catfish, drum, and pike all off the dock. There's a beach that we could canoe or walk to just at the end of the cottage keyhole. Nice firepit to roast marshmallows on. The kitchen was well equipped, and there is a nice bbq smoker which we used to prepare some ribs. Perfect for getting off the grid and just relaxing. We were there during a heat wave, and the cottage got quite hot in the afternoons with no AC, but on days when it was 29 celsius and below, it was fine. One oddity of note: there were no curtains or window coverings on any of the windows in the bedrooms, so the rooms were quite bright in the evenings and mornings and on the hot sunny days, the cottage just got hotter and hotter. But overall, this was a great place for a family to rest and relax and enjoy lake life. Don was an excellent host, and answered my questions with timely and helpful responses. We would definitely stay here again!

Thanks for the review Julian. This is the second time now this summer that bedroom curtains have been mentioned. These will definitely be looked into for the bedrooms. Will also have to research ac options as our summers do appear to be getting hotter every year! Glad to hear you caught fish and had a great time in spite of the heatwave. Lots of toys for the 3 year old which was very appreciated.
The only thing I could say might be an improvement would be some blinds on the bedroom windows (privacy, however more importantly darkness so the children believed it was night time).

The house is perfect lake view! We loved the house as it felt like home the minute we walked in.

Perfect Spot
Posted Sep. 23, 2020 on HomeAwayWe had a friends weekend and everything was perfect! The view was amazing, and we spent the entire day out on the dock in the sun.
Thank you for allowing us to stay and I’m sure you will have a few new renters out of our group.
