Everything was really nice at this resort. My only complaint would be the pool and pool area way to small for the size of property. Spent all our time at the beach.

Oceanfront stay

Property was in a great location. Check in was easy. Private beach was a plus. View from balcony was great! Could watch sunrise in one direction and sunset in other.

Positives & Negatives

Positives : Marenas Resort is in a good location on the beach (not terribly crowded) and there is a Publix a block down. The front desk, cleaning staff and bar tenders friendly. Room was stocked with basic kitchen utensils, plates, bowels and a coffee maker (designed to only use thier coffee pods). No condiments. Negatives : Host was terrible and will NEVER communicate with you. Never ever responded to any calls emails or anything. Advertised with parking, tried to get a hold of host who never answered. I called VRBO and they told me parking was included in stay stay and I called the day before check in (past the refundability). Only then before my flight was the advertisement changed to include a parking fee. Found out at the front desk about the additional charge. At that point I had to decide to check in or call VRBO for alternate accommodations which is HUGE hassle and wouldn't have worked because everything was pretty solidly booked up. I was told by the front desk that Franklin Da Costa is the Marketing Manager of the resort. So I checked in thought, hey this is a 4-star resort so they will be straight and fix the cost of parking. BUT Franklin De Costa never returned any calls from the front desk, never contacted me after the stay. Contacted VRBO, they said they can't do anything and I would have to work it out with the host even though I saved my receipts and host would never call back. I even called and emailed the general manager (Romina). Franklin Da Costa weeks. I gave the Romina a week. Never heard anything. Also... dont expect anything like a small condiment like salt. I asked the front desk and they initially said yes sure. 1min later they called back and said no. I was surprised. A couple packets of salt was all I was asking for and was happy to walk down to pick it up. Still no. The surrounding a limited number of restaurants that have ok food but is waaaaay overpriced. Paid $28 for 2 slices worth of pizza, a coke, and a beer. The 6 slices i was charged for was 2 slices worth cut up to what almost looked like but sized sliced. It made Costco pizza look like gourmet pizza that was just delivered straight from Italy. I rented a BMW through Turo which was another disaster and won't be using that platform again at all. I've had good experiences through VRBO in the past but now I will question it more. I am doubting I will be staying at Marenas again. Its listed as 4-star hotel but management is acting more like a 2-star hotel.
