Very good

Great hospitality, very friendly and helpful staff. Nice room with lovely bathroom. A bit stuffy due to weather, would help if main window could be opened slightly to allow air to circulate. Good breakfast, so will definitely recommend the Boars Head, and all going well will return later this year.

We only stayed for a night and it was hot, but the room was airy with the window open a little. The staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately I hadn't realised breakfast was included because we'd have got up a little earlier but we managed a piece of toast before we had to checkout.
The main road outside is a little noisy but it seems that entertainment in Middlewich for youngsters is limited to driving around...
However, the Boars Head was still a great place to stop over before our canal trip!
Nice room for the price with easy access to the pub for good well priced food with excellent service and a good choice of drinks. Serve yourself breakfast was toast, cereal and yoghurt along with OJ and instant coffee. Room was quiet and it was a good nights sleep
It is close to my daughter's home. The staff were all very friendly and eager to help. I was made to feel welcome

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was good and reasonably priced. The room I eventually stayed in still suffered with noise from passing traffic. The room although clean was dated with poor quality furniture, the wall behind the bed was dirty with lots of spill marks and the paint needed refreshing. There was a lack of sockets, it would have been impossible to use a PC. I had to pull a bedside cabinet out to recharge my phone. The water pressure was low so only a trickle of hot water, the shower was the same. The on/off switch for the shower was in the bedroom and after searching as to why I had no hot water I found it - no instructions given. There is no double glazing so in many of the rooms there is road noise.
It was okay for 1 night stay. It's a pub with rooms above. Serve yourself continental breakfast was sufficient.
Shower was defective. Hose was not attached properly.
