Once again, my apologies that you had this experience in my home. I did indicate being "sorry for any inconvenience" in my initial reply when you reported the concern. That being said, your statement about never receiving an apology is simply untrue. In addition, you were in fact refunded the same day you reported the incident as well as another refund on 5/31/23, totaling a refund for 2 nights plus all deposits, taxes, and VRBO fees- total of $450.62. Therefore your statement about not being offered or receiving a refund is again, simply untrue. If you do not show record of this refund by now, I suggest you communicate with VRBO, directly. Yes, I did make mention of “being in the woods”, though never insinuated I felt this was “okay”, only extended to you explanation of our pest control efforts and diligence in keeping the home sprayed, as being in the woods does inherently have risks of pests to breach the perimeter from time to time, in which you responded that you understood, even adding you were “sure this is part of opening the house up for Spring and Summer.” I do understand that seeing these things is uncomfortable and not ideal, and for that I am truly sorry it caused you such distress. I take every opportunity to learn from experiences and with this one, I have addressed this situation with the housekeeper to increase awareness and do anything to prevent a situation like this from occurring again. The housekeeper did report doing a walk through prior to your arrival, and there was nothing in the tub at that time. Considering I have had no other reports of situations like this one leads me to believe it was an unfortunate, yet isolated incident. I take great pride in the cleanliness of my home. Your statement insinuating my home is a safety risk is absolutely without merit and an unnecessary escalation. I did everything I could to “make it right” for you and I am sorry you feel a written apology and a refund does not meet that comment in truth. I wish you the best and thank you for this learning experience.
