Good room, nice property. Unfortunately, there was construction all around the property and it was very noises and wasn’t able to get the rest we were hoping. About 10 min walk from nearest subway.

Ubereats was not allowed up, being on a cane and told to come down was difficult. No refrigerators and no microwaves. For the price of each night this should have been a standard so a person could store the night price water from the vending machines. The breakfast is extra, a place like “Doubletree Hilton” you would think breakfast is included but not here. Upon arrival despite being told there was valet parking I had to the next hotel for parking and then walk back (again this was not convenient being on a cane and with and 84 year old guest). The room shades were open which was fine but the wall and bed was less than a foot of space making it difficult to nearly impossible to get to the chain to close the shade. Why could I see the shape of the person through the glass in the BATHROOM from the BEDROOM!!!! I have never been in a place that had a bathroom exposed like that. Where was any type of safety bar in the shower for the hotel’s own insurance in case someone slipped? Very low room lighting. The space for the toilet and the sharp silver thing where the toilet tissue was ridiculously tight and I kept getting my leg cut! Everything was tightly spaced in the double room and definitely not worth the nightly room price which I was convinced of once the giant rat crossed in front of my car upon arrival after an 18 hour drive only to be told park at the next hotel and walk back! Over priced, and the red seating looks like a matted male body part in the lobby.

My stay at the DoubleTree in New York was abysmal. The shower handle was broken and kept falling off. When maintenance came, they “fixed” it so that it only produced freezing cold water. I was forced to take an ice-cold shower that 1st night. The next morning, another attempt to repair it failed, and only then was I moved to a different room. Even then, the rooms lacked basic amenities such as a fridge or microwave. For a hotel of this brand, the experience was extremely disappointing and unacceptable.

The actual hotel and hotel property is nice, the area around Long Island City can be a bit sketchy. Overall our stay was 10/10, the location is super close to Manhattan and other very popular areas. Would recommend to others.

Horrible Stay

The toilet was clogged, they came out at midnight unclogging it. then next day it happened again. We switched rooms, Next day only 1 bed out of 2 was made. Telling us we had stuff on the floor and they did not to open our bag? What does that have to do with our room being clean? We paid around $300 for a horrible stay, not the doubletree we are used to.

Hotel is in an awful neighborhood. Limited food and shops. Have to walk through sketchy neighbors to get to the subway. Hotel itself was undesirable. Thin walls so you can hear everything. Especially the neighbors with the shared door to conjoin rooms. Constant car alarms and horns going off. Bathroom door is one of those sliding kind with a fogged glass window. You can hear, see and smell everything. One elevator was always no in use making it take forever to get up and down from your room. If you still choose to book here make sure your room is not near the elevators. They beep all night long. People also have zero self awareness while they wait for elevators and do not stay remotely quiet no matter the hour.
