What a gem! It's a great location, not quite 2 blocks from the 1-2-3 line, and the 2-3 takes you directly to Times Square in about 4 minutes. There are tons of places to eat, plus a grocery store right across the street. There really were none of the annoying things that can happen in historic buildings -- the water pressure was great, the elevators were zippy, and all the staff was SO NICE and HELPFUL. I stayed for 5 nights and I'm really not ready to go home.

Booked for 4. The option was 2 rooms or 1 bedroom suite with foldout in living room. $2700 for 3 nights. Foldout was unbearably uncomfortable. No apologies, no special accommodation. Had to pay for a second room for 2 of the nights. Their big concession was giving us the Expedia rate for the second room. Staff could not have cared any less. Air conditioning was extremely noisy. Too hot to leave it off. Tiny bathroom. Only nice staff were the bellmen. Stay elsewhere

The suite with a view surpassed our expectations. We loved having a sitting area and kitchen. Staff was friendly and checking in and out was easy. Our room was very close to the elevator but we never heard it. Would definitely stay here again.

First time staying here - very pleased. Classic hotel. Great neighborhood, was upgraded upon check in & able to get in before the official check in time. Blocks from a major subway line. Good light in the room. The kitchenette in room is very handy for a longer stay.

We were on a top floor and had a large room with a spectacular view of the city and the Hudson River. The room was nice and the bed was comfortable. There was a small kitchenette that was serviceable. Over all, the hotel is a bit tired, but we would stay there again.

What a surprise and delight Hotel Beacon was! The room was spacious, clean, and quiet with a lovely view out to Central Park. Everyone was so nice, from the front desk to the bell clerks. And the location was so convenient -- an easy subway ride to everything we wanted to do in town. It was also a terrific bargain, honestly. I can't say enough about this old-world gem of a hotel -- it really made the whole trip to NYC perfect. Thank you, Hotel Beacon!
