No central a/c - instead had two standings fans (not even quality). The room needs to be re-done and the shower has a bubble of some sort on the tub (you can tell it was just painted over tub). For the amount of money spent, this is clearly a 2 star hotel.

The Renwick Hotel is…AWSOME!

Easy check-in, and my room was ready early, which was great. The staff is professional and warm. Room completely adequate sized for one person. Two would find it pretty tight, but that's Manhattan. Love it that there's a bathtub! Bar downstairs looks cool (too tired to take advantage of it)

Great location but poor customer service, WIFI

The Renwick has a fantastic location right in Midtown and it's very walkable. The building itself has been retrofitted, so it's in reasonable condition. Pros - Great location! Cons - 1) Water pressure and water temperature is very bad (you'll either suffer with really hot or really cold water) 2) Terrible WIFI if you're on floor 12 (and perhaps higher). It wasn't functioning for us quickly enough so we had to use our own hotspot. 3) Service is sub-par for and spotty: a) Some front desk staff are professional but some didn't even bother to look up to talk to you. The only person that was professional and friendly was Guary. b) The bellman aggressively took our luggage upon arrival from our hands (when we didn't want him to) and delivered them to our room, at which point in time, he awkwardly stood there and lingered around to ask for a tip.
