Great location, clean room and small room, but suitable for it's purpose. Nice rooftop lounge with great city views. Check in was smooth, received for codes one day prior to arrival. All communication makes you believe there is no on-site staff. Front desk was staffed upon arrival, departure, at most times I past. Annoying to have to upload documents before hand, but all went well. Only negative of my stay was my room location on the first floor right next to the coffee station. Other guests tend to congregate in the area early morning and late evenings, not the best for light sleepers.

Grimy common areas, worse room. There were random hairs all over the place and the sheets were stained. The room never got cooler than 78 degrees. When it got up to 82 I turned on the dinky window AC and it rattled so badly that O thought it was going to fall out of the window. Unpleasant all around. Good location, at least

One staff member on phone was not courteous. Room was poky and just one set of sockets.No space to hang clothes other than 4 hooks on the wall. The photos on Expedia make the hotel look far better than it is. It is at most a 2 star or even a 1.5 star not a 3 star as listed.

We generally liked our stay here. For the nightly rate, what we got was: a clean room with 2 comfortable twin beds, a clean bathroom with a good sized shower, a larger sized “mini fridge”, coffee maker, safe, table with chair, etc. For NYC, it’s a medium-sized room, just fine for 2 budget-minded travelers like ourselves. They advertise as a contactless hotel that doesn’t store luggage, so we paid for other storage arrangements when we got in. However, they actually *do* have people at the front desk for a good part of most days and they *do* store luggage from 10-3 (hours aren't fixed and depends on who is at front desk. It’s a little fluid. For example, we needed to be sure to get our luggage out of storage by 2 because the person was going to leave by that time.) I could ding the hotel for that, but really it turned out to be in our favor, so why complain? And they will do some housekeeping during your stay if you request. If you need extra towels you can go down to the common area (a break room with a kitchen in basement ) and get them. That area of East Village has a ton of graffiti and trash, stickers up everywhere. It’s safe, just dirty. The hotel is not; it’s just in the middle of all of that. But…you have iconic Katz’s Deli right nearby, cute shops and other restaurants within a few blocks, Russ & Daughters deli has great bagels, Lil Frankies is a good Italian place, Madam Vo’s is a great vietnamese restaurant closeby. And a subway stop just around the corner.

This is a budget friendly boutique hotel with easy online check-in . We had a clean but very small room. The bathroom was a decent size with good hot water pressure. The Wi-Fi worked well. The bed and pillows however were very uncomfortable and the bed was surprisingly low. More importantly the temperature in the room hovered around 77 degrees with the window open. When we informed the front desk that the air conditioning wouldn't kick on, we were told the bldg was old, and instructed to turn off the thermostat. That only served to keep the temperature from reaching 80. When I spoke with another guest on our floor (5th floor) they were not having any issues with the temperature in their room which was a comfortable 68 degrees. The highlight of this property is definitely the rooftop patio on the 7th floor. It offers long range views of Manhattan, which is especially beautiful at night.

The room was very small but perfectly fine for what you need when visiting New York, unless you plan to spend a lot of time in the room and not out and about. As a solo traveler or couple, it is totally fine. Would not recommend if you have kids.
