spacious, secluded, huge pool
Donovan is extremely responsive and was very helpful throughout the entire rental process, he was a pleasure to work with.
Normally this would be a 5-star review because it is a nice property, great price and in a good location. However, if you have actually stayed on the Vidanta Resort (Grand Mayan, Grand Luxxe, etc) you will most likely be disappointed. While located very close in proximity to Vidanta, and technically is part of Vidanta, this Condo feels very separate. Some people may like that. it's much more secluded and quiet. But you can only access the main resort via a golf cart which has to be called every time you want to go or return to the condo. Even though you are only a few hundred yards from other units, there are no walking trails connecting this to Vidanta, which means that every trip to the pools, gym, La Plaza or dining within Vidanta will have to start after you get dropped off at the Taxi stand...not really central to anything which means at least 1, if not 2 more cart rides depending on where you are going. That adds quite a bit of time and complexity getting to/from the resort.
On the other hand, if you are looking for a very large condo that can hold lots of people, with a beautiful HUGE,pool and you want to hang out and maybe venture over to the Vidanta resort once or twice during the week, then this is a great option. It had lots of space, the pool was huge and warm, and completely uncrowded. And unlike the units at Vidanta, it was really nice having a washer & dryer right there in our unit (though it is just outside of the 3rd bedroom and can make it noisy for whoever is staying in there).
One note about the 3rd bedroom. It is VERY small, much smaller than the other 2 which are good sized, it's maybe only 7x9 with a full-size bed.and a small night stand (there isn't room for anything else). And this room only has a small 4" duct running AC into it, so it does not cool like the rest of the house and will be hotter than the other rooms.
Overall it's a beautiful unit,and Donovan is 1st class in his service. But because of the separation from Vidanta and small 3rd bedroom I can't quite give it 5 stars.
