Needs some attention

This is an OK place to sleep. That's about it. It needs a little attention. An example is there was blue masking tape on the laminate floor to cover defects (broken spots) in the flooring. Room 209

Fast checkin. Courteous staff. Adequate parking. Even with the meal at the Pho restaurant (had the #9 excellent!) my $ total was considerably less than i usually spend on accommodations in Oakland, so yippie! hot dog! and Merry Xmas to me!

Foul odor and dirty

The non-smoking room smelled awful, like old cigarettes and mold, and there was human hair on the “clean” towels. When we requested fresh towels for the room, there was hair on those as well. One of the women at the front desk came off as snippy and was generally unpleasant. Would not recommend staying here for any amount of time.

We have rooms that are designated non-smoking, but unfortunately, not all of our guests abide by our rule, and occasionally, as seems to have happened on this occasion, a guest will smoke in a non-smoking room. We wish you had alerted us to the odor issue during your stay, as we could have moved you to another room, if available, to make your stay as comfortable as possible. That said, we have noted your concern, and rest assured that we will look into this and conduct an investigation within our housekeeping department to correct any lapses in current cleaning standards. Furthermore, we will see to it that our staff does a better job of airing out the rooms moving forward. We will also ensure that the concerned front desk personnel is aware of your impression and see to it that we provide better customer service moving forward. It is disappointing if a guest leaves with less than first-rate experience - this is very unlike us.
