This is absolutely not a "5 star" Hotel. The room was not cleaned very well prior to our first night, the air conditioner made the floors and surfaces in the room sticky, couldn't be barefoot or in socks in your own room. Found a few bugs and ants were all around the property. I picked up plenty of glass from the beach, just a little while after staff had "cleaned" the beach area. Forget about coordinating the shuttle too! Worst hotel we stayed at in 20 days of Thailand! It was supposed to be a fancier place to stay! 3 Star resort (maybe).

Thavorn Palm beach Resorts at Laron beach is awesome property. As we arrived , The check-in process at Thavorn Resorts and Spa was seamless, thanks to the Expedia booking reference which made everything quick and hassle-free. The staff were exceptionally polite and gentle, warmly welcoming us and, as a wonderful surprise, upgraded us to the private beachfront villas at no extra cost. This 5-star property is truly a tropical paradise blending lush flora and fauna with stunning ocean views, creating a serene forest-meets-sea atmosphere. The grounds are impeccably maintained—spotlessly clean and beautifully landscaped. The peaceful ambiance is enhanced by the gentle sounds of the ocean, making it a perfect escape from the everyday hustle. What really stood out were the numerous ancient Thai statues and idols scattered throughout the resort, adding a rich cultural vibe and bringing the surroundings to life. The petting zoo was a delightful bonus, especially fun for families or animal lovers. Dining here offers a healthy selection with plenty of variety, ensuring there's something to please every palate. Overall, Thavorn Resorts and Spa offers a flawless blend of luxury, nature, and culture—highly recommended for anyone visiting Phuket.

If you’re after a resort-style experience, this is a good all round choice. There’s a shuttle to nearby areas, plenty of activities, and it’s well-suited to families travelling with children. The breakfast buffet is quite average, but meals from the Crocodile Bar were very good.

Could be so much more, paradise spoilt!

Not what we expected. advertised as a wellness spa resort, but reality is not! We requested an early check in as we arrived at 9am, this was not met, waited 6 hours for our room! Wasn’t given the right information at check in. If you book half/ full board or all inclusive they give you coupons, to present when you enter the restaurant. (did not like this at all!) you get a different menu, very basic and the same menu for every meal, after 3 days we were ready for a change!! Lots of young children, big inflatables in the pool, large groups, music playing all day, does not equal a place to come, relax and recharge! We had to ask to move rooms as the first pool access room faced out on the main pool area where everyone seemed to gather, making our room very public! (Room2114) avoid!!!! The second was like going into a different resort, room 2118! What made this place was the staff, all so friendly and accommodating, trying to take care of your every need! We got the feel the staff were being closely watched, which made the atmosphere a little tense! On a positive note, the pool areas and grounds were beautiful! A useful note, take pumps for climbing on the rocks for when the tide is out!

Didnt meet my (high) expectations but still great

My expectations were high. The hotel has great marketing and the visuals on their site looked amazing. In reality the rooms were a little tired. We booked a two bed/ 2 bath suite with sea view which is one of their best rooms. I expected decent in-room coffee but this doesn’t come as standard. A cable car is available to take you to rooms on the hillside but this runs at limited daytime hours. Although buggies are available if you want to wait. There was considerable off-season maintenance work going on which was noisy and very disruptive. I would expect to know this when booking so I can make the choice to stay elsewhere. I think keeping this information from guests is actually quite dishonest. As a result much of the resort was not open and there was no evening entertainment. We chose the low season because it suits our schedule and we prefer it to not be super busy but felt that more effort was needed to create a fun atmosphere in the evenings. The private Beach is excellent and pool would be great but due to maintenance the loungers are very tightly crammed together leaving no space for privacy. This is billed as a spa resort. The spa is very good but I expect the wellness theme to reflect in the fitness centre. The gym is quite poor. For those wanting to workout properly there are no weights machines/cables. No pull up bar. No barbells or plates. And the dumbbell set is incomplete with weight markings missing from many and the odd dumbbell missing.

From the moment we arrived at Thavorn Resort, we were swept away by the stunning grounds, warm hospitality, and tranquil vibes. This resort is truly a hidden gem nestled along a beautiful stretch of beach—perfect for anyone seeking both luxury and nature. The lagoon-side pool room was spacious, clean, and steps away from the water. Waking up to the sound of birds and the lush tropical scenery felt like something out of a movie. The swimming pools are some of the best we’ve seen—winding, peaceful, and surrounded by gardens and charming animal statues that make the whole place feel magical. Staff were attentive, friendly, and always ready to help, whether it was arranging transportation, booking tours, or offering local recommendations. The breakfast buffet was full of delicious Thai and Western options, and dining by the sea at their restaurant was a highlight. We especially loved the quiet, relaxed atmosphere compared to busier resorts—perfect for couples or families who want a peaceful stay. And the location? Ideal. Easy to access attractions like Big Buddha, Patong Beach, and the ferry to Phi Phi Islands. Highly recommend staying here, whether it’s your first time in Phuket or your tenth. Thavorn has that rare combination of charm, comfort, and unforgettable views. We’ll definitely be back.

The swimming pools are some of the best we’ve seen—winding, peaceful, and surrounded by gardens and charming animal statues that make the whole place feel magical. Staff were attentive, friendly, and always ready to help, whether it was arranging transportation, booking tours, or offering local recommendations. The breakfast buffet was full of delicious Thai and Western options, and dining by the sea at their restaurant was a highlight. We especially loved the quiet, relaxed atmosphere compared to busier resorts—perfect for couples or families who want a peaceful stay. And the location? Ideal. Easy to access attractions like Big Buddha, Patong Beach, and the ferry to Phi Phi Islands. Highly recommend staying here, whether it’s your first time in Phuket or your tenth. Thavorn has that rare combination of charm, comfort, and unforgettable views. We’ll definitely be back.
