Easy check in, the owner communicated with us prior to arrival. The room was nice and clean, and appeared to be recently renovated. They have a large covered patio area with tables and grills, and plenty of parking. It's on stilts, so there's a lot of stairs, but that's true for all coastal structures. The location is perfect, just a few blocks from the beach, and a short drive and ferry ride to Galveston.
The whole building shook everytime someone used the stairs and hard for us old folks to use the stairs. The rooms were clean. Staff very nice and helpful. Five minutes to beach.
Location is very nice. More attention to facilities is needed. The owners/management tried to accommodate our need for a/c after our initial room had a problem with the deadbolt lock, but the alternative room had a poorly working a/c. They did try replacing the a/c, in quick time I might add, but unfortunately, it didn't work either. We ended up back in the original room we were booked that had a faulty deadbolt. We took it because the a/c worked. The deadbolt was still not working when we left.
I understand that this is an older motel that was updated, but things like locks need to work. I gave them 4 stars because they really did try to help us with what they had available to them. They were booked and there weren't many options. The night ended up being ok. I just hope they fix the deadbolt on room 10. The room was clean and other than the deadbolt, everything was nice. I would be more likely to stay here again during a weekday when the prices are hopefully more reasonable.
It was an okay stay. It was refurbished on the inside and you could tell where spots were missed and things were painted over. Looks like it was a "quick" renovation. But tms inside was fairly nice, clean and comfortable. The place is an older place and the outside is a little lacking. The A/C worked but is also older. I would stay again if needed.
Cute little beach hotel. I like that there is a fridge and microwave. The bedding could be better. Sheets were like sand paper. I have never slept on rough, scratchy sheets.
The hotel amd service were great. Its what you expect aesthically for the area. They are pet friendly! Which was also why we left unfortunately. We had a long night fter attending a friends wedding and the people next door had a dog thag was loudly barking. We ended up checking oit early. Front desk person was awesome.
There were two beds squeezed into the space. The bathroom door wouldnât open completely due to one of the beds being in the way. I found a waffle fry under the door of the fridge and the mirror was filthy. The vinyl flooring had gaps in them everywhere, pillow case and comforter had holes in it, and the AC didnât work worth a damn. I am normally bundled up in bed but didnât even sleep with a sheet that night.
The hotel was clean, the linens were clean, bed was comfortable. The shower and bath were also clean. The only issue during my stay was the neighboring rooms. In one room, someone was smoking at 3 AM, which woke me up because I react to cigarette smoke. I didn't sleep well because the other unit left the TV on all night. The rooms are non-smoking, but people smoke anyway. AC worked really well which is important in the summer.
Room was fair. Water pressure was only fair, both electric outlets by bed weren't functional, no electric outlets by desk, incredibly noisy air conditioning unit, bulb burned out in central light. All units are second floor with no elevator.
