Would not allow us to cancel for a refund over Easter, during the ongoing cartel instability. US State Department has advised against travel to PV, but this property insists everything is back to normal, as a way to keep every penny of your reservation fees. In light of the extraordinary events that led up to the situation they should have been concerned with the safety of their guests but didn’t care. Beware.

I rarely post reviews on Expedia, but I feel strongly that this one needs to be shared so future guests are fully informed. This is an honest and comprehensive review, and I have also attached a video so you can see the conditions for yourself. If you are looking for a tranquil and relaxing place to stay, this is not it. The noise level is extreme. You can hear constant honking, traffic, and street noise throughout the night. It is loud enough that sleeping is very difficult. On top of that, the blinds do not properly block sunlight, so the room becomes very bright early in the morning, making rest even more challenging. The worst part of the stay was the bathroom. The toilet was not functioning properly, and the shower sprayed water everywhere, making it impossible to take a comfortable shower without flooding the area. The bed was also extremely uncomfortable. The mattress felt very hard and uneven, almost like sleeping on stacked concrete blocks rather than a proper hotel bed. The staff were not particularly friendly or helpful, and the overall environment felt unsafe and unwelcoming. I tried to request a room change, but my concerns were dismissed, and I was simply told, “This is the room you booked,” without any effort to resolve the issues. For the price, this stay was absolutely not worth it. The photos online are misleading and do not reflect the actual condition of the property. Please think carefully before booking this hotel.

Friendly staff. Clean and new pool area with umbrellas and loungers. Room was clean and they upgraded us. Cold AC. Yummy breakfast. Shower was a bit wonky but thats all. For those who are noise sensitive, this is a busy area on most sides of hotel so bring a sound machine ;)

The hotel is clean and easy to find. There is an elevator if you can’t walk the one flight up. There is parking under the hotel. A small but comfortable pool. The staff are very friendly. The room was large but easily cooled with a quiet air conditioner.

The Hotel is in a great location and the staff are wonderful. I'm sure most all of the rooms are great, except room # 128. If you stay there choose a room other than # 128. It is next to a place where people gather. The only bottled water dispenser and two comfortable sofas and chairs. Whether it's 2:00 in the morning or 6:00 AM, there always people right outside your door talking and laughing and it sounds just like they are in your room !

When the cleaning staff did come to do our room they didn’t change our sheets or clean the bathroom. They didn’t wash the balcony floor once during our 2-1/2 week stay. Also, the cleaning staff never washed the washroom floors in the pool area or the sink area. The pool man gave our towel cards to someone else so when we returned our towels he couldn’t give us our cards back. This was a problem because when we checked out we were supposed to return the cards so we didn’t get charged for the towels.

As always we didn’t get the room we reserved. But they made it right, we had the best room available. The best part of breakfast was the 2 ladies that worked there. We were at the best location of the area, yes there was construction. But we got home and plan to return in October to this same hotel. Everything is so close, restaurants, grocery stores, bus stops to the south and to the north areas. Staff was so helpful and polite, Thank you all

We stayed twice at Loft Malecon within one week, in different rooms. The location of the hotel is fantastic (despite sewer work going on in the street in front of the hotel during our stay), but you have to be very careful about where your room is within the hotel. On the plus side, the rooms were reasonably clean and the beds were comfortable. On the downside, several rooms overlook the inner patio/restaurant/pool area and can be very noisy especially in the morning when the restaurant starts up. Also, our 2nd room had a large toilet paper hold in front of the sink which made it really hard to use the sink since there was only a narrow area between the wall and the huge, locked (why?) toilet paper dispenser. Also the 2nd room didn't have an in-room phone to reach the front desk and the towels didn't include a mat for the bathroom. When I asked at the front desk, they looked at me like I was asking about very unusual things. But these things were in our first room earlier that week! Unusually for Mexico and Puerto Vallarta in our experience, staff were not very helpful. In addition to the above example, they didn't provide basic information at check-in about the breakfast that came with the reservation. We weren't told that coupons are needed which are only obtained from the front desk and that only a few items on the menu are included. The restaurant staff spoke almost no English so this information is only available from the front desk.

We had to walk through an unsecured parking lot to get to the building where our room was. There was construction on the main road so everyone detoured around the back of the building. We were not able to sleep at all. This room should not have been rented at all. The roads are cobblestone as well so the noise was unbearable and loud.
