Our stay was a very nice experience in a beautiful town, but we had two issues at this facility:
1. the internet was very spotty (we were promised a partial refund but never received it)
2. the common dining area was not left too clean by other guests.
Otherwise, it was decent value for money, very conveniently located, especially being so close to the spectacular gondola rides that give the best views of Queenstown, Lake Wakatipu and the surrounding mountains.
Really loved how close it was within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants downtown. The walls were pretty thin so we would hear our neighbors extremely well but once they settled down and went to bed, it was great. I do wish they allowed us to stay parked at their hotel after we checked out, even for a couple more hours. We checked out at 10am and our flight didn't leave until 2pm but we couldn't stay there and walk around the area. Other hotels allowed us to stay parked for the rest of the day even after we checked out, because we had paid for a night, and that would be the only thing I would change. I think they have pretty limited parking though, so I do understand. I just think it would be nice to allow us to stay until the next guests check in, which is around 3pm.
The sofa in Room 301 was stained and dirty, and the carpet was old and unclean. At night, I could even hear my friend snoring from the adjacent room. While it might be a budget option in Queenstown, it really doesnât offer a good experience for tourists.
We booked one of the suites near the cemetary and loved it. The room was very comfortable and had an excellent view of Queenstown. Staff were very helpful and friendly. I only wish there was cutlery in the kitchenette - it was strange to have a kettle and toaster with no cutlery or crockery - these needed to be hired from reception.
Beautiful room with a view of the mountains. Bathroom very modern with a fantastic shower, although a little on the dark side in there.Coffee and tea making facilities and cups and glases provided. normal size fridge. Disappointed there were no bowls or spoons provided to enable you to get your own breakfast. This was part of a holiday park and there were large cooking areas. You had to rent a cupboard to have access to any equipment. We were there only one night, so didn't see the need for a couple of bowls.
Great location and very close to the main town and lake front.
We received check in instructions via email that we couldnât access upon arrival at 7:30 pm, as the office closes at 7 pm. The WiFi was terrible and rarely worked, and our toilet didnât work. Luckily we used the campgroundâs toilets. The carpet was worn through and you could feel the springs in the worn beds. Iâve stayed in worse, but I wouldnât stay there again. The location was great. Iâm wondering about hotels.com because the reviews were mostly good there but apparently there were many terrible ones on google when my friend checked.
We stayed in the cabins and expected cabins would have bathrooms but they did not, so we got unexpected communal showers and athlete's foot. Plus, despite paying for the hotel in advance on hotels.com the accomodation charged our credit card unknowingly and the arrival email with the code for the lockbox arrived 24 hours late.
