My partner and I had a wonderful stay with our six year old hound. The beach is private and the yard well sized, which is so peaceful to look out from the deck. The windows face the water and is incredibly picturesque while reading on the couch or eating dinner at the table. The only heads up I'd give to future guests is that the railing on the steps down to the beach is loose on the bottom step. It is not accessible for any loved ones with mobility issues. We had an absolute blast and would recommend this property throughout the year!
The house is nice and clean everything works except the Internet is very low The porch is very nice but there is no electrical outlet to charge you're phone
Great location, beautiful view! We stayed as two couples for a long weekend, plenty of space. House was very clean and planters outside are gorgeous! We enjoyed relaxing on the deck and made use of the paddle board and the private beach. We also followed our GPS into the subdivision nextdoor and a nice neighbor pointed us in the right direction. Donât turn left at the subdivision sign. Carry on straight down the long dirt driveway. Once you find it, youâll be very happy you did!
Perfect spot for a quiet Easter weekend with books and the sound of water while sitting in the Adirondack chairs each day. You wonât regret this stay, will definitely come back!
This was the perfect weekend getaway! We loved the views, the quiet neighborhood, and private beach. The TV was not working and the host was very responsive and accommodating. With all there was to do we did not need it! Canât wait to come back here.
The house was cute, clean & quiet! The beach area was perfect! We had a wonderful, peaceful time! Extra bonus points in my book for allowing pets :) my dog also enjoyed himself very much.
The house is adorable and has everything needed to feel at home. The view could not be better, and the perk of having a private beach makes this rental a MUST for those who enjoy being on the water of the Chesapeake Bay. The host quickly responds to questions and gives great tips on places to visit and eat in the area. I cannot wait to go back there!
This is our second summer staying here. It truly has the best views of the water and great little private beach that my dog and son have the best time on. My son always asks if we can live here forever. It is a great relaxing, peaceful getaway. You will not regret your time here. Thanks for being a great host!
Exactly as advertised. Dog friendly, quiet cottage with small beach and spectacular views. Sat on the porch with coffee and a cool breeze watching wildlife. Nathan was responsive and easy to work with providing plenty of local recommendations. We look forward to our next stay here.
The beach area was beautiful. Good fishing. The house was nice. The only observation I have would be to move the queen bed. The ceiling is very low in that area. We both hit our heads pretty hard in the beginning.
This property was so clean, the views out the windows were spectacular, and the water is right there! I greatly enjoyed the kayak and my dog just loved the privacy he had to play in the water. The host was extremely quick to respond and was one of the nicest hosts we've ever had. Highly recommend this spot and we can't wait to return!
We checked in on Friday evening and right away when we take our dog out for a walk the barking starts next door. It was dark so i couldnt see how close the neighbors really are I could only hear barking. Come Saturday morning and we had to enjoy the water from the porch and the back yard due to storms, which is always a possibility when booking in september. We knew that and have had to stay inside properties before due to hurricanses. So we thought we could just relax on the porch or back yard and watch the water. But that wasnt the case..What the pics dont show is that the neighbors property is less than 20 ft from the porch and their 2 little dogs barked at our golden retriever almost non-stop every time we went outside. I imagine if we could have gone to the beach, those dogs couldnt see us and maybe wouldnt have been barking. But we had no choice but to stay on the porch or in the back yard. So be aware that the neighbors property is close by with yappy dogs. As for the house....my family has stayed at plenty of mountain and beach rentals over the past 15 years. We stayed through hurricanes and snow and every time except this one the house was nice enough to make up for it. Not here. Nothing at all special or worth remembering about this house. If you can spend the entire time in the water, it is pry worth it. But otherwise go elsewhere.
This was an incredible family vacation. My review is way overdue. My family and I stayed mid-August which was the perfect time. My kids which are 8 and 11 said it was the best vacation ever! They really enjoyed digging on the beach looking for sea glass. They also came across a baby seahorse (they released him back into the ocean) and sand crab which was following them around. We did end up grocery shopping at the Food Lion, so we did not leave the house for 5 days! Since we didnât leave, we overpacked in clothes! I didnât realize how convenient having a washer/dryer on site was!! We did bring our dog which was the first time he traveled. I am very thankful for the opportunity to travel with our pup because it is hard to vacation with a pet. He loved the beach, and he did swim for the first time (it was a one and done time for him lol). I enjoyed watching the sun rise every morning, watching the osprey, eagles, and dolphins swim by. The beach is very private, and you do have it all to yourself. I would recommend looking into biting fly repellent. They were only a problem on the last day and seem to attack the dog the most. Whatever we brought did not work but you were safe in the water (which felt like bath water in mid-August). The house was clean and there are breathtaking views from every window in the house. We also enjoyed watching the big the ships go by from the porch. We had such a wonderful time and we made many beautiful family memories here.
everything was fantastic!! The house is comfortble, we were able to enjoy the beach every day and the location was exactly what we wanted! Bring bug spray!! We are very familiar with the northern neck region and knew to bring heavy duty bug spray. If there is a good breeze there is no problem, but if the air is still the flies will destroy you!! Nathan gave great information on places to go and where to eat, Kilmarnock is close and had plenty of shops and restaurants as well. We will def be back!!
Property is exactly as advertised! Beachy and relaxing stay at a well maintained, clean, and really nicely decorated place. Perfect for a vacation with the benefits of the beach but without the crowds. Amazing wildlife watching, too. The private beach is really special and the new porch also adds a wonderful place to take in the views. Last couple of steps down to the beach might be a challenge for the elderly. Upstairs bedroom is well appointed, and on cool nights you can open the window and get the bay breeze. Downstairs bunkbed room is best for kids (no reading lamp and window doesn't have a screen). Prepare to eat in early in the week when restaurants are closed; late in the week we really enjoyed The Crazy Crab, Reedville Market, and Fawn's Delectables. They're not walking distance but are an easy 5-7 minute car ride. Thanks, Nathan!
5th time staying at Nathan's wonderful property. We love the private beach, the views from every window, and the seclusion. Always the perfect get-away from our busy city life.
