"Arrival was easy, nobody manning reception but was not a problem, key left on the side clearly labelled and clear instructions etc. Room clean and well presented, good amenities, including tea, coffee, fresh milk etc. Room not perfectly blackout with some streetlight coming in round the side of the curtains, and a faint green light from the fire exit sign, not something that bothers me as I sleep with my eyes closed, but some day dreamers might want a blindfold. Bed was clean, very comfortable and we had an excellent and quiet night’s sleep. Shower was fabulous; excellent pressure, temperature, no leaks and well maintained. Fantastic breakfast that you pre-order the previous day by ticking a few boxes and post the form at reception. It meant in the morning ingredients were clearly fresh and delicious! Top notch! Checkout similar to check in and nice and simple. Enjoyed our stay very much and would love to re-visit another time. Thanks!"

"I loved the proximity to the train station, perfect location to visit York for the first time, staff were lovely. Room was clean, bed was very comfy. My room didnt get much sunlight, but it is a period building with small windows. Shower was spacious, but I couldnt figure out how to use it properly, also instructions for the aircon would be helpful. I plan to return, and to stay longer next time."
