Location:100 ft from Colisseum and subway, great restaurants and some shopping right below. Very accessible.
Hotel is greatly located very close to Colisseum (and subway) as well as very good restaurants. Included breakfast was great, just didn't like the room itself it didn't feel very clean. Walls had fabric instead of wall paper so it felt too old and dirty. The beds had also very old bedspreads that didn't feel clean. : (

Perfect location
Easy walk to the coliseum, and just minutes from everything to see in town. The staff was always polite, friendly, and ready to help. The breakfast was perfect and the waitress makes the BEST coffee- any way you like it! My only complaint was the beds were a little firm for our taste, but we still slept very well. Also, don't miss Taverna Romano right around the corner for dinner!!

Great hotel in the center of the city
Pros:Hotel Solis provided key features sought when looking for a hotel: safety, quality staff, cleanliness, accessible location
Cons:The room decor could be updated, but would not stop me from staying here.
I stayed at Hotel Solis based on other reviews and it did not disappoint. Traveling with my mother made a hotel near key sites (Colosseum, Roman Form, Capitoline Hill, Plaza Venezia, etc.) very important, to ease her accessibility, without being too pricey. Hotel Solis was the perfect choice. The hotel room (standard double - Rm 108) was small, typical of hotel rooms in Europe, but small patio helped. Most importantly it was clean, staff was friendly and attentive. Someone was always at the front desk and willing to offer assistance when asked about getting around town. The internet connection was excellent and breakfast tasty with sufficient variety (scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, yogurt, breads, cheese, salami, ham, fresh juice, water, cereal, etc.). There was more than enough food for the guests opting to take advantage of this amenity. Making it more memorable was the extremely friendly cook/server who greeted you with a smile (I wish I had gotten her name) and made sure everyone's coffee cup was always full. We looked forward to going down each morning before heading out on our long and grueling daily treks around the fabulous city.
There are several good restaurants nearby, but I recommend Imperiale down the block. Good food, friendly staff, reasonably priced, accept credit card and no cover charge. We ate here a few times during our 4 day stay.
I could go on and on. This hotel was excellent and I would definitely recommend and stay here again when visiting Rome!
