Poor communication
The apartment is really nice…once you get into it. We were going to arrive early in the morning and asked in advance if we could drop our luggage early. The host instructed us to contact the property managers via WhatsApp. We did that before our trip and got no response. I informed the host that I hadn’t heard back and he said he would let them know. Still when we left for our overnight flight we had no response at all. Once at the Rome airport we messaged again but still no response. Finally when we arrived in the city we called and were told we couldn’t drop our bags because someone else was staying at the property. There fore we had to scramble to find a luggage storage location. Had I known ahead of time that we wouldn’t be able to drop our bags, we would have made arrangements. They told us we could drop them at 11 but when we called around 12:30 we were told the apartment wasn’t ready. The manager called us around 3 to come check in but we were out sightseeing and told him we couldn’t be there until 5-5:30. He agreed to meet us at that time. We called to let him know we’d be there in 20-25 minutes. We called again once we were at the door. He said he’d be right there. I assumed he was coming from nearby because we waited for about 15 minutes at the door. Turned out that he was in the building!
