In general the hotel was beautiful especially the exterior part of the building. The interior needs little work done. 1. The closet doors, although beautiful at the first sight, did not slide well so when opening they opened with a bang creating a loud noise. I could hear the bang of the door from the neighbor unit and I discovered that my unit had the same problem. 2. Another issue that I had was that the floor mat in the bathroom was not changed and cleaned. When I asked the housekeeping to change it, it was changed by exchanging the mats from the other unit and the dirty one left at the other room. I know this because my room was changed due to lighting issue, as in no electricity. No fault of theirs. I saw the dirty mat in there. 3. I also saw holes where a light fixture had been and replaced by others but the holes not fixed. That also goes for the holes on the floor where the closet doors were repaired. 4. One day a shower faucet came off and fell onto the floor but I put it back hoping that it will hold. I should have notified it to someone but I figured that they already knew. 5. Although the negatives were obvious, all the good wonderful things outweighed the negatives. I must really thank the front office crew of their wonderful service they provided. One of them even took me out shopping for shoes in neighborhood’s shoe stores. A couple of times I wanted a certain food and they took me to the wonderful restaurants. You really don’t find that kind of service

Fantastic Stay at Hotel Concepción – Warm Hospitality & Great Location Hotel Concepción was the perfect home base during my visit—centrally located just a few blocks from the markets, the main square, and a charming bakery just two blocks away. What truly set this hotel apart was the outstanding service. The staff arranged everything I needed, including airport transportation, a memorable cooking class, a breathtaking hot air balloon ride, a guided historical walking tour, and even a six-hour excursion to nearby cities. A special thank you to Geraldo, Danielle, Victor, and the entire team for making my stay so smooth and enjoyable. Their warm hospitality made all the difference. Highly recommended!

Lovely colonial hotel, great location

We stayed at Concepcion Hotel Boutique for a weekend as we were attending a wedding in San Miguel. The hotel is beautiful, and our room was big, with a love of light, however other friends that stayed there got really small and dark rooms (with a sliver of a window). Location is great, staff is super friendly and helpful, but the room you get might change your opinion and sway you into thinking you are not getting what you pay for. My biggest complaint is the door locks - every time you open or close it a voice tells you if its locked or not, making it very hard to come in and out if someone else is sleeping in the room. I would recommend they remove that feature

Wonderful experience!!

Absolutely loved my stay here! Customer service was over the top good. All the staff knew my name and provided me with additional experiences such as successive room upgrades because I was staying 8 nights. Was also provided with a welcome bottle of wine and another smaller bottle later in my staff. The restaurant staff went above and beyond to source gluten-free bread for me and delivered breakfast to my room (earlier than they opened) one day because I had video conference calls all morning. The pool and hot tub were stunning as were the various sitting areas around the hotel. It certainly felt ‘boutique’. It was perfectly situated and close to restaurants and all the key areas. Very, very clean and well maintained. Extremely comfortable rooms. I hope to be back!!

This is quite simply a gem of a small hotel. We appreciated the quiet, adults only, beautiful, and calm atmosphere within the property. Our room was spacious, the bed comfortable, and the water pressure great… Three of the most important qualities of a hotel room! Combined with an unbeatable location, it was a wonderful place to stay in San Miguel.

On the fence

Very expensive for what was offered. Very nice hotel but no bar/restsurant/lounge. No gym. Breakfast was very limited but ok. The second night (Saturday night) fireworks that sounded like shots fired were going on at 4am for at least an hour. It was a celebration but we were never warned and it scared the hell out of us! That’s the least they could have done was to warm us.

fireworks going off at 3:00 in the morning for hours. Very loud. Glad I don;t have PTSD, or I would have flipped out! If I spoke spanish I would have tried to call the police.

My wife found Concepcion Hotel in a recent article in Travel & Leisure. After much thought and research we decided to give the hotel a try. This was our second trip to San Miguel in less than a year. The hotel is very conveniently located about a block and a half from the center of town. This is a small boutique hotel that opened about two years ago with approximately 15 rooms. The hotel architecture is beautifully designed with a traditional San Miguel, Mexican style and feel. The hotel has two open atriums, lots of seating areas throughout, with gorgeous landscaping, a beautiful heated pool and spa and roof top area with beautiful views of the surrounding churches and city. Our room was spacious, well appointed, comfortable king size bed, nice bedding, L'Occitane products, we had a split A/C unit, a small well stocked refrigerator and safe inside the closet. Our stay included a daily breakfast that is served in the small dining/bar area next to the pool. Most notably we enjoyed the entire staff who did everything they could from the moment we walked into the hotel until we left to make our stay memorable. Gerardo, who from our perspective acted as the manager, concierge, reservationist who is a one stop point of contact. Gerardo not only interacted with us prior to our arrival and helped coordinate restaurant reservations, tastings at wineries and car service but checked in on us each day throughout our stay to ensure we were comfortable and in want of nothing.
