My stay was better than expected, clean room and convenient location, breakfast buffet just has everything you want to eat and prepare me for a good hike afterwards. Grocery store is just minutes away, I even ran into a group of peaceful deers during our stay.

The lady in the gift shop did not seem welcoming. But overall the rest of the staff was very nice. The lodge is amazing and so is the park. The only complaint was the room did not seem to have a/c only heat. However, we did not ask since it was late when we noticed it. At least it was fall so the weather was pleasant and the room temperature ok. Definitely would go back.

We have no complaints about our stay. The room was nice and clean and quiet. The Peaks restaurant had delicious food. One thing I really liked was that the Lodge was close to the trails we hiked. After the long drive into the park, I thanked God that we didn't have to make that winding trail every day we were in the park. Thank you for having such and nice place to stay in your park.

If I could define this lodge, it would be — no one enjoys working at this location. The experiences with the staff were interesting. We must make an exception for Brent, the bartender and the manager that works at the Lodgepole gift shop (she was fantastic, but didn’t grab her name - had red hair). Brent was a great vibe and a good spirit. As for front desk (Nicholas), his interactions along with his co-workers seemed pretty forced. We had a server named Lou, she seems to not really enjoy working at the lodge - her facial expressions and overall attitude speaks volume. Denice, the food manager, she was okay! All in all, we probably wouldn’t stay here again - the pillows are extremely uncomfortable, housekeeping is very loud in the mornings with slamming doors, etc and like I mentioned above, staff wasn’t the most full of joy. I do highly take into consideration that these employees are currently going through a stressful / hard time due the government shutdown, but it’s absolutely not an excuse to treat clients poorly.
