I was assaulted physically by the proprietor who was angry that I arrived at 10:30 US time when it was 11:30 in Canada. He swore at me. Told me to get the luck out and hurt my arm trying to push me down the stairs. The police were called!

Charming easygoing hosts, Fred and Burt are very knowledgeable of the history of St. Stephen and were happy to share their stories and experiences with us. The breakfast served during our stay was homemade with care, delicious and varied and is definitely worthy of a 5 star rating.

What a beautiful bed and breakfast!! Everything was incredible! The bed and breakfast decor is exquisite, the staff friendly, the gardens amazing! The breakfast was way over the top! The array of delicious foods available and the presentation with beautiful dishes was truly amazing! We would highly recommend staying here.

Nous avons fait une très belle rencontre avec Fred et Bert qui sont des hôtes charmants, agréables et très intéressants. Leur maison est magnifique remplie d’objets insolites. The property was beautiful and very quiet. The room at the back overlooking the garden was comfortable and had a large adjoining bathroom. The hosts were friendly and welcoming and provided a delicious breakfast with many choices. I would happily stay there again next time I am in St. Stephen.

This is a very unique, comfortable, personal and friendly place to stay. You truly feel like you are staying at your best friend’s home. Every detail and comfort was offered and considered, and the hosts were so welcoming and personable. The property was very quiet and relaxing and their three little french bulldogs were an absolute delight. The breakfast was above and beyond. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves unique historic places, wonderful hosts, and quiet relaxation. A return visit is a definite plan!

St Stephen’s hidden gem!

Loved it! The decor reflects years of planning; creating a unique and comfortable home to welcome guests. The hosts are charming and interesting, even to inviting us to a local theatre production the next day. Breakfast was perfect with a selection of homemade jams, jellies and preserves, all artfully presented.

Out of the ordinary. Loved the way that each room was crammed with antiques. Not a great place for kids, but we loved the way that every inch of floor space was filled with interesting items and antiques. Truly a throwback to Victorian times. Hosts were friendly and engaging and the breakfast was sumptuous -- can't think of a better word for the feast.
