They offer a veteran discount but do not let you know about it when you check in

After looking at your reservation we see that the rate and discount you had was much better than the Veterans discount we offer and if our front desk agent would have given you that one instead we would have been doing a disservice to you. Staff was great. View id the arch was awesome. Our room had horrible disgustinf big stains on the carpet. We had to put a towel over the boggest one just to not be so grossed out

It was very run down had many broken tiles on the bathroom floor exhaust fan did not work so windows were fogged over from taking a shower ( great water pressure)many stains on the carpet and broken lamp shade i paid $140 for a $40 room

You should know: There's nothing nearby

I took the amtrak to St Louis and the Metra to the hotel and that was a quick, smooth way to get there. But once I did, it was a black hole. I arrived in need of a phone charger and cigarettes. Had to door dash both to me because there was nothing in safe walking distance. It's like a little island of safe - high fences and security on site - in a sea of unsafe. At least as far as I could tell. I got there early, around 1, hoping to check in and get to a meeting scheduled for 2-6. Clerk told me I couldn't check in till 3. Thankfully the woman next to her took over and 30 seconds later I'm holding a key. But I was pretty angry with the question of whether it was possible for me to go early or not. It either is or it is not, they're either is the room available or there is not. It shouldn't be luck of the draw with whomever happens to check you in.

We do apologize for the effect it had on your checking in experience and we will certainly us that moment as a teaching tool to better our customer service experience for future guest. In regards to walkability, part of our casino is still over the Mississippi River making us very close to the river but unfortunately we are a little farther away from most businesses. Many attractions and stores are within a five minute driving distance and we are location directly next to the MetroLink making it easy for our guest to travel to and from many local businesses and events nearby. We thank you for choosing to stay with us Sara and we hope to see you again soon.
