The location of this unit was excellent. We loved how close we were to the beach and walkable Johnâs Pass. Thereâs not a better view either! As of May 2026, this unit does not have beach chairs that are suitable for hours on the beach day after day. Thankfully we found a service that delivered chairs. Like others have mentioned, the unit is equipped with the bare minimum. Plan on getting soap to wash your hands at the kitchen sink, paper towels, and toilet paper to name a few things. You may wish to consider plastic baggies, plastic wrap or tinfoil etc to deal with your leftovers. Living room set and dining set were comfortable. All appliances worked nicely.For us the biggest surprise was needing to go over a 1/2 mile off site to retrieve our keys and then to do that again for key drop off. We were unaware and did not have a car. It was not a big deal to do this walk for me, but it absolutely could be for families of small children trying to pack up or others without a car. This information should be included right on the VRBO site. We had friends who also stayed at Villa Madeira with the easiest check in and check out process. For the reason of needing to go off site to retrieve keys, I would not consider this unit again unless we had a car. Renters should also be aware there is no âmain lobbyâ so once you check out, thereâs no place for luggage if you have a later flight.
