The only thing this has going for it is the location. The room looked nothing like the photos. The carpets were terribly stained. There was black mould in the shower. The bed felt like it was going to snap and the beds werent made properly with the mattress showing. The elevator was broken. Overall, it was a disappointing stay.
Very good location. Nice clean room with a spacious shower. Despite being located in city centre, very quiet. Easy check in and check out, staff very friendly.
The location was fantastic, especially if you took a train to Stirling, like I did. It was only about two blocks away. Restaurants were all around, within easy walking distance of the castle. The bed was comfortable and clean. They provided excellent tea and little goodies as well. Everything was great except the bathtub had a lot of black soap scum and even some hair at the far end. Luckily, I keep Clorox wipes with me; I cleaned the tub when I noticed it, as it was after hours and no one was around.
I had a delightful stay at Friars Wynd. Check-in is not open (or an option) until noon as reception is the bar. I was hoping to check my bag early but wonderfully the cleaning staff had been through and my room was ready for an early check in. There are no room numbers, just names. I stayed in Ness which overlooked the road out front. The room was nice with a super soft bed and an iron burn in the carpet floor. This reminded me of my past ironing snafus. There was some noise from the street as people walked. If you need absolute quiet, be warned, but it was not a problem for me. Private guest entrance to come and go as wanted. Walkable to pretty much everything! Would absolutely stay again!
Nice big room, but basic tea/coffee offering considering a better room than standard. Carpet in room hadn't been hoovered for some time. Toiletries also basic.
Great location in heart of Stirling. Couldnât ask for better location. Car park directly behind it and after 5.30pm itâs free.
Our room was spacious enough but unfortunately due to previous guests there were signs of wear in the room. Walls marked, glass on mirror smashed, iron burn on the carpet.
Our room was cold but heating did work but it was a particularly cold weekend so we asked for a wee heater.
Tap in bathroom when husband turned it on the pressure was huge and he got drenched luckily he had brought change of clothes. We told staff member about it when going out for dinner.
Bedding had large rip in it.
The bar/restaurant (restaurant no longer in use) has a lot of potential being in such a central location but there was no-one in it on a Saturday night other than 2 friends of reception staff member so we went elsewhere.
Overall we enjoyed our overnight but we didnât spend a great deal of time in the room and maybe some touch ups required.
Check in staff amazing
Arrived at my room to find someone asleep in the bed
Reported this and was told that it was housekeeping staff
Got upgraded to another room again reception staff brilliant
Would I stay again, hell yes
The location is ideal. Near to the rail station and city centre. The staff were efficient and very helpful.
Left my mobile in my room and the put it i a taxi to be picked up at my location
The room was good size and the location was great. Parking was a little complicated. And the many pathways was a bit confusing at first. But everyone was helpful and there's lots nearby for looking and eating.
It was challenging for me being disabled entering the hotel from the car park then having to go so many stairs with luggage to the reception then back up the stairs again to the bedroom
