Terrible. It’s quite different from what we have seen in the booking. It’s a big and old hotel, no guest staying at this hotel, only the big event that required a lots of spaces. Would recommend to consider another hotel if you have choice. Unsafe and awful environment. Hotel restaurant are closed, swimming pool full of dry leaves.

Pailyn Sukhothai
Posted Mar. 22, 2018 on HotelsThe Pailyn Sukhothai is a grand old hotel on the outskirts of the historical city. It is not within walking distance of restaurants or shops so you should have some transportation unless you wish to eat at the hotel. The hotel caters to large tour groups and the first day of my stay, the hotel was almost completely empty. I had to look for the staff in order to check in. That said, once i found them, they were very friendly and accomodating. The description of the hotel is NOT accurate, the WiFi is limited to the hotel. The rooms are large and clean, but the windows cannot be opened. My only complaint about the rooms was a lack of electrical outlets. The pool was a welcome sight after a long hot day sight seeing!

Friendly staff but needs attention
Posted Feb. 8, 2018 on HotelsThe pillows were like blocks of stone. Far too hard. And why have a pool that's open 24 hours if there is no light in the pool and you can't see to swim after dark.

Treated like Royalty
Posted Apr. 7, 2017 on HotelsWe arrived late afternoon and the hotel looked very impressive from the outside. We parked directly outside and the porter assisted with our suitcases and delivered them to our room. At check in there is a photograph of the former Prince now King when he stayed in 1991 so we were pleased that Royalty had stopped. The room was large and clean but unfortunately the toilet leaked so we were moved to the Imperial Suite which was fantastic.
The staff were really friendly and helpful and the breakfast team could not do enough for us, even cooking extra eggs when we arrived after most the other guests had eaten.
It is a great location for visiting the Historical Park in Old Sukothai which is amazing.
I imagine when the hotel was first opened it was very majestic, it does need some tender loving care and investment but for the price you cannot complain.

Pailyn Hotel Sukhothai - it's fine!
Posted Jun. 30, 2011 on HotelsStayed 1 night here - good location right on main road. Room big, spacious - has everything you need. Comfortable bed. Basic bathroom, but OK. Restaurant was OK - large variety of Thai & western food. The pizza is obviously bought in (because mine was served with 20cm cotton string from packaging still attached!). Breakfast buffet was fine - good choice but nothing special - we've had far worse. A bit noisy at night if there's a group partying by the pool. And LOTS of mosquitoes in the lobby and restaurant. Free wife in lobby, but not in rooms. Read some bad reviews of this place, but I think many of them are unjustified, The staff were OK and helpful enough. We'd definitely stay here again if we're in Sukhothai again.
