Picture yourself surrounded by tranquil nature sounds, endless countryside views, and nestled in a charming cottage style home with all of the relaxing feels. This is what you will find at our home. Set in the beautiful historic town of Grand Coteau, this is the perfect place for your next getaway. You are secluded in a serene location but only a short drive away from some of the most famous Cajun Cuisines and popular shops in the area. Our home is guaranteed to promise an unforgettable stay!
Guests will have full access and use of the unit 24 hours a day. You can come and go as you like and there`s an electronic lock, so there are no keys to keep up with! It`s likely you won`t see me during your stay, which allows you more privacy and convenience. However, I am here anytime you need to reach out. If you need anything or have questions, just send me a message via Airbnb and I`ll be quick to respond.
We prefer Uber, which is a private driver service. Just download the app on your phone to get started. Some places are within walking distance. Enjoy your stay!
This was our 2nd stay at this property and we will stay again so that should speak for itself. It's not perfect but it absolutely meets all our needs. It's very clean and comfortable. The neighborhood is being updated as houses are being turned over and renovated but we felt completely safe. It's very quiet and peaceful. The location works very well for us to visit family in Lafayette and Opelousas. Beds are very comfortable. The full kitchen is decently stocked. Cabinets and drawers are original and homemade but functional. Local water is sulphury so we use bottled water for drinking. The tub/shower arrangement is not ideal due to the window location and the shower curtains puddle in the bottom of the tub. A/C works great! Parking area and access ways flood temporarily after a very heavy rain. Having a washer & dryer is wonderful! We met the owner this time and he was very nice. We rented it for 12 days this time, We'll be back!
Great location between Lafayette & Opelousas with easy access. Very clean and decently stocked w/ dishes, pots, pans, & utensils. Fully furnished kitchen. Well stocked with bath tissue, dish & laundry soap, coffee pods, & other amenities. Good quality paper goods, linens, & towels. Full sized washer & dryer were great. Central A/C & ceiling fans in bedrooms were very nice. Beds were VERY comfortable (headboards?). Lots of closets. Overall layout is very efficient & works well. Neighborhood was very quiet. New faucets in the bathroom & kitchen sinks! We enjoyed having a full-sized tub - more on that later. We slept well there & will definitely try to stay there again when in the area!As much as we liked it, some areas for improvement but no deal-breakers: The water is sulfury so we had some rust stained hot water in the tub the 1st couple of days with a slight sulfury smell. We bought bottled water to use for drinking, cooking, & ice. Consider putting a 5-gal bubbler in the kitchen. Tub/Shower arrangement is difficult/awkward. Curtains drag in the bottom of the tub - potential hazard to shower & nuisance for bathing. Very limited bathroom storage for personal items and toiletries. Add a small, inexpensive standing shelf in the corner. Add a small corner shelf above sink. Add towel hooks over locked door. After very heavy rain, water pooled around car near back door. Kitchen cabs stick or don't latch. Kitchen drawers need help.VRBO very responsive! We'll be back!
The cottage is charming. Out the kitchen window is a pretty view of the large backyard. The neighborhood was quiet. The kitchen is stocked better than many airbnb's. If you plan to cook though, you'll need to bring your own spices, oil, etc. Which isn't a problem for me. I always do that anyways. At night the kitchen could use more lighting near the cabinets. It's a bit dark. The two bedrooms both have their own tv's, which is nice. The beds are very firm. My son was fine with his, but my husband and I went out and bought a mattress topper to soften it a bit since we were staying for 10 days. The living room has a small leather couch that will seat two people and a large tv. My only real complaint would be the couch. It was very uncomfortable. We like to watch tv in the evenings and relax, and it wasn't relaxing. Also a comfortable reading chair would be amazing. Something to put my feet up on.It was a good price and the host always answered in a timely manner.
